Well Penny, then get your game down on line first before taking it live. Live takes more time and you got to able not to flinch or any thing else, since people will be reading every breath you take.

Besides if you go to Vegas there is more than gambling.

They both have their advantages and disadvantages. First off you are, by the way it looks, talking about the ring games. I honestly have yet to play ring games at a casino so to give an opinion I am unable to do so. But for tourneys I would have to say that online is by far the better choice.

I believe that this was mentioned before, but with live tourneys it is basically a waiting game. Much more time is taken at the casino's with regards to calling. The main reason I believe is the players that are playing are not used to having to count out there chips. They are more used to pushing a button. I know I had a slow start when I played my first one. Also with live you have much table talk, and for me this messes me up when I am trying to think. Whereas with online you can just block the chat with the click of a button.

A few other great advantages to online is the accessibility. For some it is not easy to get to a casino. Maybe because there is not one close by. I know for me it is about a hour and a half to get to one close by. In the winter time I honestly would rather sit at home with the comfort of my couch and play the game rather that have to spend that time driving. During that driving time I could have easily squeezed in a SnG for less money than it cost me to get there. Also with online if you get pissed you can say outloud whatever you like. With the casino's they tend to frown on such habits.

Putting real money down on an online poker program was the best thing I have ever done in a long time. I play PKR and there its quite difficult, my bankroll floats it goes up and down up and down like a maniac plays but I don't go broke and I don't gradually make money. This is why I'm here to learn more, theres either something wrong with my play or I'm over buying into tournaments. I tend to only play tournaments after good ring play and make some money. I'm not afraid of the patients factor, lots of online poker players need to be heaps more patient when they play live games because they see so many hands in such little time online. The reason is, I'm playing PKR and PKR simulates real life pretty close, you actually do get to see almost the same amount of hands online as you would in real life. Not the same but almost. They have Deep & Steep tournaments where you start with 5000 in chips.

I have not played many live games- but I do try to play the same way- I am still learning to try to pick up tells. Playiong on line seems to help gauge other players that will help in live games.

poker online is all about calculating odds and having good instincts live poker takes a lot more skill when it comes to reading players

Default much prefer live to online

there are huge differences on playing live and online some good som ebad.
the big difference is you can see the players and learn how to read players.online you cant yo ujust push and see what happens even though you can see types of styles like the all in donk or tight player.
live games though really are great enjoy playing them more so than online
just not enough tourneys wher ei live to be able to play more.
thats why taking notes is so important when playing online as yo unormally run into the same pewople in the ring games and use your notes thats why ther are there
anyway thats my 2 cents

Default live poker

In my state where I reside anyway recently passed table gaming in certain counties,WV.The closest county to me is about an hour or a little more away.I have never played live NL Holdem. They havnt even built on to the casino yet. They are working on it tho.So between now an this summer,I need all the *live* tips I can get.I can be sorta emotional playin online, but nobody here to notice..lol.A person dont need a poker face playing online. What should I know or do before my first *live game.I would prefer to play a medium buyin tourney, thats what Im best at.
