[quote=archonwarp]I just turned 18, and I'm looking forward to going on a trip this summer, blowing lots of money at a casino, and having fun. What places in the US, or Canada, allow gambling for 18 year olds? Although I know that I have online gambling available to me, I much prefer real life, physical games. I live in northeast Ohio, and the closer the casino the better. So any places you guys reccomend? I have limited funding, so I'de prefer a day trip away

Well if you were one more year older I would say to take the three hour trip to Casino Niagara in Niagara Fall's Canada. Lot's of table's. But you have to be 19 to enter. I believe casino's in New York have a 21 year old age limit just due to the fact that alchohol is served. In Ontario the age limit to gamble is 18 and to drink it's 19...due to the fact alchohol is served you have to be 19 to enter

Go to Poker Stars and and spend 50$ to use there and play the 2cent and 4 cent tables. The people there play good and its a low risk oppurtuinity to get good experience from poker.

I think a lot of the casinos on Indian Reservations only require you to be 18. I used to live in Mt. Pleasant, MI (it may be about 3-4 hrs from the OH-MI border), and they have the Soaring Eagle Casino. My friend's 20 and he goes there, but I don't think they have any games below 2/4 or 3/6. I'm not sure if they have tournaments or not.

pirate is absolutely right, about 90 percent of the casinos on indian reservations allow you to play at the age of 18. I'd actually suggest finding a low limit home cash game to start playing in. I'm sure you can find a .50-1 limit game to play in your area, all you have to do is ask around.

down in texas we been able to enjoy free hold-em with Amatuer Poker League and it has been a great learning experience that did not cost a thing. Great way to not go broke while learning.

I don't think playing without something on the line is the way to learn. YOu have to be very disciplined not to play every hand, or even care about the outcome of the game. I'd say having a few bucks in front of you at least teaches you that the way you play will win or lose you something valuable.
