Default POKEROOM... no more cashback from player points!

i recieved this email from pokerroom after enquiring about the abolishment of the cash back on player points...

As of June 16 we replaced our points cashback promotion with the $6,000 NL Texas
Hold'em Freeroll. Hence, all players who had less than 100 points in their
account had their player points reset to 0. Please be re-assured that these
"removed" points still apply to any deposit bonuses, re-load bonuses, refer a
friend bonuses or freeroll prizes that you have been waiting for. Players with
more than 100 player points will still be able to cash these back for real money
up until the 17th September 2004. They will see a section on "My Account" page
which will tell them that they have XXX points to cash back. The player will
only be able to cash all of these in one go. There is an icon they can select
titled "make points cash-back".

The $6,000 NL Texas Hold'em Freeroll is eligible for all players who have earned
more than 500 player points during the week. The tournament will premiere on
Saturday the 26th and start at 1:00 PM ET (6:00 PM GMT). It will be held once a
week at that time. Cash prizes are directly transferred to your account, no
conditions apply. Player point counts are measured from Saturday to Saturday.
Don't miss this great opportunity to earn some profit from your hard-earned
player points! To register use the tournament ticket on My Account. The ticket
will be available as soon as you reach the 500 player points mark.

If you require any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us

Regards,

Suzanne

Default

ive not playued in weeks actually as ive had problems with my connection - plus with work etc

this was the first i had heard of it

they say this on the account page

Quote:
Player points

•Do spent player points count towards bonuses?

Spent player points still do count towards the required points for claiming Freeroll prizes and Refer-a-friend bonuses. However, only active points are taken into consideration for deposit bonuses, and they count only after the deposit is made. Any previously collected points do not count.

•What are player points?

Player points are something you earn by playing with real money on most of the games offered at PokerRoom.com. They allow you to collect deposit bonuses and free-roll tournament prizes. All our poker games including Chinese Poker are connected to the Player Points system. Non-poker games include Black Jack, Baccarat, Slots and Let It Ride. Note. The Cash-Back system has been replaced. Go to My account to convert your remaining cash-back points. This option is available until September 17th. Then the Cash-Back system will cease to exist altogether.

•How can I tell how many player points I have?

Log in and click on My Account. There you will be able to see how much player points you have (below your real money and play money balance). Further down, you can see if you need more points to collect bonuses or if you have earned a ticket to our Player Points Freeroll. Example:

Player points: 122.50 Today: 10 + 0 This means you have 122.50 player points. The numbers after 'today' mean points earned today on poker games and non-poker games respectively.

Only real money players have points. Player points are NOT the same as play money credits. If you are a play money player, you do not have any player points.

•How do I earn player points?

  • Texas Hold'em
You get 1 point for every raked real money hand where the rake was $1.00 or more. You get 0.5 points for every raked real money hand where the rake was less than $1.00 (but more than $0.50).
You do not have to pay rake to earn points, you just need to be dealt cards. If you are sitting out you will not earn any points.
  • Hold'em, Omaha, 7 Card Stud (Poker 4)
You get 1 point for every raked real money hand where the rake was $1.00 or more. You get 0.5 points for every raked real money hand where the rake was less than $1.00 (but more than $0.50).
You do not have to pay rake to earn points, you just need to be dealt cards. If you are sitting out you will not earn any points.
  • Tournaments
5 player points are awarded for every paid dollar in entry fee (real money tournaments). For example, if you enter a $20+2 tournament, you will be awarded 5 * $2 = 10 points. The points are awarded when the tournament finishes.
  • Baccarat
0.05 player points are awarded for every bet real money dollar in Baccarat.
  • BlackJack
0.05 player points are awarded for every bet real money dollar in BlackJack.
  • Chinese Poker
You get 0.1 point for every real money hand where you paid a fee of more than 10 cents. You get 0.05 points for every real money hand where the you paid a fee of 10 cents or less.
  • Let It Ride
0.05 player points are awarded for every bet real money dollar in Let It Ride.
  • Slots
0.05 player points are awarded for every bet real money dollar in Slots.
  • Video Poker
0.05 player points are awarded for every bet real money dollar in Video Poker.
NOTE: This schedule has been (and may again be) reworked to even out the possibilites to earn points in the different games.

•What is points cash-back?

The Cash-Back system has been replaced. Go to My account to convert your remaining cash-back points. This option is available until September 17th. Then the Cash-Back system will cease to exist altogether.
