Lightbulb When Buying Chips Impotant To Rember

Both of thsoe are nice sets. But one thing that you should always keep in mind when buying a poker chip set is. What is the max number of people you relistically think you will have playing at once? Most people on need 3-4 different chip demons. Suck as White for lowest, Red For the next step, Blue and then Black for the biggest. Usually more than 4 denoms is too much for the simple reason that you usually will not 1) have enough players or 2) You just dont need that many. Just as a example in a normal limit 3/6 game the only chips you see people usually play with are 1 dollar and 2 dollar.

im holding off just now in buying them as i think a few of us are gonna chip in for a set

ive got a game tomorrow - about 8 people
what we do is all put in say 10 pounds and then just divide the winnings out to first second and third

we're using my friends chip set tomorrow but they arent the best - theyre better than using pennies though!
heres a pic of what they look like (pretty much the same as these)

Thumbs up All is Good

Yea chips are also alittle different there than here also. We do not use the planks we only use the circular chips. I have played with the planks when i traveled to England to play in a tournament. When you all play tournaments you all start out with 1000 chips correct? Also in buying a set intended for a tournament like play enviroment you would want to purchase one that would insure everyone getting 1000 chips to start, which is usually the starting chip number for any tournament. The only time it really changes formt hat is when each player is putting up more than 100 USD each. At which point some places give 1200 starting chips.

well we were using only 100 worth of chips each but made the blinds really low like 2 or 4 - its all relative really

the real chips are a million times better though - am i not right in saying that casino poker chips are only 9 grams and not 11.5

Correct although some not too many do use the heavier chips. 9 grams are nice personally I have the 11.5 slug weighted they all work just as well though the 9's are cheaper which is why casinos use them and most of the time have just about the same feel.
