Default Party Mini Steps : An explanation

my friend does the ladder tournaments at ladbrokes and raves about them.
Ive already got cash at party and i want to build my bankroll there and also improve my sng performance so these step games are perfect for me just now.

Now i know that you can effectively do this yourself by using the winnings of your sng games - however, as long as you finish middle to the end of the game you wont need to dip into your bankroll again which is a big plus in my eyes

Ive taken the time to explain each level

Site : Party Poker
Challenge : Mini Steps - 5 levels in total
Min Buy In : $5+$1
Top Prize : $2,000
Location : Go to Sit and Gos and then Steps

----------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 : Buy in = $5+$1

Finishing Positions :

1 = Progress to Step 2
2 - 5 = Ticket to Try Step 1 Again
6 = $4
7 - 10 = Out

----------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2 : Direct Buy in = $20+$2 or Step from Step 1

Finishing Positions :

1 & 2= Progress to Step 3
3 - 5 = Ticket to Try Step 2 Again
6 = 9 = Ticket to Try Step 1 Again
10 = Out

----------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3 : Direct Buy in = $50+$5 or Step from Step 2

Finishing Positions :

1 & 2= Progress to Step 4
3 & 4 = Ticket to Try Step 3 Again
5 & 6 = Ticket to Try Step 2 Again
7 & 8 = Ticket to Try Step 1 Again
9 = $4
10 = Out

----------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4 : Direct Buy in = $150+$15 or Step from Step 3

Finishing Positions :

1 & 2= Progress to Step 5
3 - 5 = Ticket to Try Step 4 Again
6 - 7 = Ticket to Try Step 3 Again
8 = Ticket to Try Step 2 Again
9 = Ticket to Try Step 1 Again + $1
10 = Ticket to Try Step 1 Again

----------------------------------------------------------------
Step 5 : Direct Buy in = $400+$30 or Step from Step 4

Finishing Positions :

1 = $2,000
2 = $1,000
3 = $500
4 = $300
5 = $200

----------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck everyone

these look very intriguing fonz. i rarely play on party poker, but these look pretty decent. although i am sure it is extremely difficult to advance far on this ladder, it doesnt look to be too challenging to continue playing for free after your first $6-$12.

well its not too bad

i finished 4th and then 3rd - so both times i got another stab at it

3rd time i won it

Played on : 29 December 2005 10:35 AM
On Table : Mini Step 1 #1067984
Game Type : Texas Holdem
Buy-In : $5
Fee : $1
You finished in position 1
1st place - fonzerelli79 - Entry to Mini Step 2
2nd place - Cinderlike - Entry to Mini Step 1
3rd place - homer4a - Entry to Mini Step 1
3rd place - w12567 - Entry to Mini Step 1
5th place - elmroot - Entry to Mini Step 1
6th place - charrgh - $4
im gonna try out level 2 now. I cant comment on the later levels yet but step 1 can be a little crazy - i saw a lot of all ins when the blinds were low.

i think this will be challenging - getting to level 5 will be a good achievement and finishing in the money then will give you a great return for your cash - i admit its a lot of game time to get there but for me, im trying to improve my sng winning % so its a good way for me to do just that without worrying about my bankroll too much

Thanks for bringing these to light, basically it should be plenty of SnG practice for $6, with the chance of a good payout at the end!

Just played my first step, was an all-in fest until down to 6 players! Came 4th after my Rockets ran into the deadly 36o and his OESD!!

In a mini step level 4 starting in a few mins

Bought in at level three - should have won first time but came third used my freeroll to play again and won

level four should be starting soon. Hopefully i can get to the last table and win some $$$ but that is still 2 sngs away.

everywhere i play i am scottishben

Into the third round of their shootout tourney (5$) just now - it is an unusual format as top 3 go through and part of the prize money goes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd each round. Also YOU KEEP YOUR chips stack!!!!

Fonz - you might like to try these as well as the steps

Steps are primarily a bankroll drainer - you will either get through 5 grueling rounds (from round 3 there are no push overs - well only a few) and you only get cash if you actually place in the final stage.

In the shootouts you get money each round so whilst you wont get rich without a big win you should be able to at least break even till you get a good run.

Having patches where i am playing as well as ever and patches where i am just rubbish- hopefully the luck will continue during any future moments of poor play.

but give these a try as well fonz.

ill give them a try this week. The steps suit me just now as im looking to get more sng games under my belt without worrying too much about my bankroll. Reaching the latter levels will give me a chance to play at a level i normally wouldnt play in
