I dont play 1 table sng's except for the occasional steps on the site for two reasons 1) because 1$ is pretty steep and 2) because the blinds increase on the number of hands played and this leads to an escalation that reduces the skill in the game. These combined factors make it much harder to make a noticable profit after rake has been played.
the 2-3 tables are much better for me as whilst the rake is the same the amount you can win is much greater. Also blinds increase on a time basis (which works out much slower than the hand way) this enables skill to tell more, as does the multitable as various parts of a players game are tested more.
As a result i play 1 table sng's on other sites. I think fonz is more or less right there but it is the hand based blind increase that keeps me away more than the rake. |
