Wink they threw some money my way...

so i decided to try pacific again. it wasnt much but enough to get me to look. i decide to play a low $$ buy in tourny to start with to get a feel for the place. i havent been here for over a year and it has changed some.

first thing i notice is the way the chat is set up. totally different screen. this annoys me. i can barely do 2 things at a time. now i am forced to. bad set up IMO.

as i am watching the hands i notice no stats. hmmm. i am not a stats guy per say but i like to look.

no last hand. this site is way behind a few others.

so i am playing in the tourny and i am noticing some guys play every hand to the end. chasers!! so i wait it out. i get a decent hand. i raise the blinds and soemone goes over me. i call the bet. the flop gives me 2 pair. sweet!! i make a small bet and the guy goes all in. he turns over a middle flush draw!! turn doesnt help him and the river gets me. i figure ok .. i will head to the ring tables.

i sit at a ring table and watch a couple hands and notice someone raising the bet every time around. the same guy! he wins a couple and then loses a couple. not really my type of poker. after checking out 4 or 5 tables i find this is the norm on the ring tables.

i decide to check out stud. i like stud. i am playing and i watch a guy turn a buck into $15 in a matter of a couple minutes. he follows everything to the river. i sit and play. it doesnt matter what i get he beats it on the river. i get trips...he gets a straight. i get a straight...he gets a flush. everytime on the river. he says that how stud is played!! so i reload and decide i will play like him a couple hands to see if it works. it didnt matter i still lost to the lucky SOB. finnally i get a monster hand and i am raising him every time around. i have aces in my hole cards and KK my first 2 up. all paint on the board for me. he is showing 2 small diamonds and a couple middle connectors. last card i get a 3rd ace. the big boat. i am all in by the end of betting and am waiting to hear it and he flips over a STRAIGHT FLUSH! couldnt believe it.

if anyone has been following my posts here this week i have had a week from hell. losing with monster hands. getting bad beats in tournies. just a terrible week of poker for me. needless to say i think pacific will not be on my normal rounds during the week. in my opinion there are better sites on the web in this day and age.

good luck at the tables. see ya there!!

the situation you described above is one reason why I don't play a bunch online, it doesn't matter what site or what you play there is always going to be someone that you just don't beat, no matter how you played it.

It is true that you see way more hands online than you will in a live game, and some people who play multiple games at a time, this just complicates things.

Better luck to you next time though

i understand what you mean about one person you cant beat... but i have seen this in a live tables too. i have seen people reload a couple times trying to beat someone only to leave the table broke.
