I have heard it a lot lately and they have yet to explain what it is? also is it a WSOP event?, or is it just a little side game people play? I am also curious if they have a 5 card draw WSOP event cuz that would be like old western style and that would be pretty sweet... oh well just a thought, i really want to know what Chinese Poker Is!!

| | | | HOMEVILLE!!! LOL. Seriously though, is this the same as Pai Gow? you get 7 card and make a 5 card and 2 card hand. Don't know if that's it or not. | |

| | | | Pai Gow is actually a casino games consisting of tiles... like "dominos". Very confusing game and I believe you almost have to speak 3 languages to understand it Pai Gow Poker is a nice way to waste time while staying even if you are in Vegas and low on funds | |

| | | | Pai Gow is a house game. Stay far far away from this one. Its easy but silly and hard to beat the house. | |

| | | | I'm assuming that you are talking about the poker version and if that is the case I completely disagree with you. Yes it is a house game (as are all of the games in the casino) but their edge only comes into play when you win. Over the course of the game they only have one advantage over the player (matching hands go to the house which is rare)... they get their cut by taking 5% of all winning wagers (.25 for every $5). This is a wonderful game for people who are looking to get a whole lot of playing time for their money. I was a dealer and a pit boss in Vegas for six years and I can't count the number of times I would see people buy in for $100 and still see them at the table 8 hours later when I was walking out the door Not to mention, even $5 players... if they play for 8 hours I'm definately comping their dinner | |

| | | | lol so no one has answered wtf chinese poker is yet. I mean kaart kinda knows and the first guy gave it a shot but we have no confromations.
lol speaking of Pai-Gow. The casino version is one of the best games EVER if you are on a limited bankroll or are there just to talk to friends and have a good time. OVer half the time you are going to split with the dealer (house) and then sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. ME never being a dealer (although trying to go to dealer school this summer) I can't offer as much info as FinK, but its definatly a game i will play everytime im in a casino.
anyone catch the WCOOP satellite on stars for the Crazy Pineapple Event??

| | | | Chinese Poker is a card game that has been played in the Asian community for many years. It has begun to gain popularity in the broader world of game players because it has all the features of a good gambling game:
It is easy to learn. Anyone who knows the rank of Poker hands can begin playing after a few minutes of instruction.
There is a large element of luck, so that a beginner has a real chance of winning, even against experienced opponents. Also, it is plausible for poor players to attribute bad results to their cards rather than their plays.
There is still enough skill in the game that experts have a significant advantage when playing poor players.
Although it is basically a four player game, it plays well with 2, 3, 5, or even more players. It is fun to play. Unexpected results and interesting hands are common. You should be warned: many players find Chinese Poker addictive
In Chinese Poker, each player receives a 13 card hand from a standard 52 card deck. He then has to divide his cards into three Poker hands, two containing five cards each and one three card hand. The only restriction is that both five card hands must outrank the three card hand (Note: straights and flushes do not count in the three card hand). The higher ranking of the five card hands, called the Back hand, is placed face down on the table in front of the player. Then the other five card hand, called the Middle hand, is placed face down in front of the Back hand. Finally, the three card hand, called the Front hand, is placed (again face down) in front of the middle hand. When all four players have set their hands, the cards are turned face up and the deal is scored.

| | | | SHIP, you are thinking of going to dealer school? Here is a tip, you know poker very well so I am assuming you have been around cards Go, learn the basics, get out and get a job. ONLY learn blackjack (unless you want to get into craps), the rest of the games are much easier to learn on the job. I went to dealer school for a grand total of an hour and a half and the next day had a job on the strip.
Once you know the basics it is pointless to stay in school. Once you know your way around the layout you are ready for the real thing. You will learn more in your 1st day on the actual job then you would in a month of schooling. Trust me on this. Dan't waste your time, learn the basics and go job hunting! | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
