Default Low hand, how do you tell...

Hey there! I've been playing Omaha H/L for quite some time and I've been very succesful in it (see previous posts). But still, I have one question I would like to ask any expert down here: How do you say which low hand is better?
For instance let's say:
Player A: A2458
Player B: A2368
Which one wins? How do you determine the winning low hand? Is it by adding points? Is it going upward strating Aces, backward starting eights???
I'd really like to know, because we plan to play this game on our next poker game with my friends and we have no idea how we will give the low pots out!

Ben

you start from the highest part of the low hand. For instance what you put up there the player A would beat player B because 85 is lower than 86. if you had A2348 you would lose to a 23457 or 23456 although there is no Ace in these hands the highest part is lower than the 8 which has the ace. Be careful when you have an A2 or something of that nature and one of them pairs on the board with an 8 you are gonna be forced sometimes to use the 8 on board when other players can use the 2 and other cards without having to use the 8 on board giving them a lower hand than yours.

I'm actually quite impressed that you've done so well without this fundamental knowledge.

Basically, the rule of lo games is simply put thusly: the worst hand wins. (High card 7 is "worse" than High Card 8, so High card 7, regardless of other cards, will win. The "kickers" do, however, come into play much more often, so I can tell where you would get confused with this.)
