Default 3-5-7 Poker

Hey there! I was listening to the World Series of Poker the other day and they were talking about one of the players whose name I can't remember (Joe Awada or something) who is a Texas Hold'em player and they said that he invented a game of Poker that is named 3-5-7 Poker. I was wondering if anyone of you has any idea of how you play this game. Is it only played in casinos, etc...
Hope you guys can help me gather information about this.

Ben

I think its only played in the casinos my man. As for playing it, I haven't the slightest idea of how to play... maybe 3-5-7's are wild? I don't know, I play Three Card Poker at the casino, maybe its like that? Haven't a clue, but I know for a fact that its only played in casinos. What would be cool though... is to have a WSOP Dealer's Choice event... that would be awesome! The dealer gets to pick the game played for like a $2500 buy-in and the winner get a WSOP bracelet and the 1st place money... how phat would that be??

ill make this quick:

Everyone anties (50 cents)

First round: three cards dealt. 3's wild. Make the best 3 hand you can with 3 cards (no straight, flushes).

betting: Player to left of dealer says In or Out, continue around until everyon is in or out. If no on is in, nothing happens. 1 player in, they earn a LEG (use pennies, buttons, whatever). 2 or more players in, exchange cards (don't show!) between those "in". those that lose each pay the winner the pot size. No LEG is awarded.

Second round: Deal two more cards, making 5. 5's are wild, 3's are NO LONGER wild. Make a five card hand.

Betting: same deal

Third and Final round: Deal two more cards, making 7. 7's wild. NEITHER 3's or 5's are wild anymore. Make the best 5 card hand.

Betting: same deal

Round is over, everyone KEEPS THEIR LEGS

Discard cards, shuffle, everyone anties again, adding to the pot.

Repeat.

How does the game end? Someone earns 3 legs, instantly ending the game. a new game is then started

ADDITONAL INFORMATION

The dealer is the last to act. If everyone is out and the dealer says "in", ANYONE may challenge. If you challenge you become "in" and trade cards, and the loser pays the winner the pot size. This is to prevent the dealer from earning free LEGS

If, in the FIRST round, you are dealt 3-5-7, you have the best hand possible. Announce that you are In. When the "betting" is over, you can just turn over your cards and show your winning hand. Anyone else who was in pays you the pot size, AND you collect the pot, ending the game.

Also... set a pot "limit". This means that as the pot exceeds the pot limit through anties, a loser has to pay only the pot limit. Example: Pot of $15. Pot limit $10. Player one is "in" and loses to player two who is also "in". They pay player 2 $10, not $15.

Finally, dealer changes to the left (like normal) after each completed round (consisting of 3, 5, and 7 rounds)

This explains it all. Just don't be the idiot who prematurely announced 3-5-7 and forfeits additionally potention winnings!

have fun, give any questions
