i've seen this game a number of times and the only thing i really know about it is that its played kinda like 7 card stud. What exactly are the rules for this game?

For play it's identical to 7 card stud, the one exception being that the high card leads the action instead of the low card.

Other then that, the best 5 card low hand wins, aces count low, straights and flushes do not count.
So A 2 3 4 5 is the best hand in razz.

Well, yes and no. You do not have to play a pair unless it makes up your best 5 card hand, i.e.:
(A 3) 3 4 5 5 (5). In this example your best low hand is A 3 3 4 5, a pair of threes.

But if your hand were:
(A 3) 3 4 5 6 (5) you best low hand is A 3 4 5 6, and the pair is not played.

Does that clear things up?

Interesting how much popularity one game gets to another and the only difference is the high starts instead of the low....what is no one knew what Stud is and Razz was one of the big games online and at the WSOP? weird thought

Razz is should be put into online gaming sites... it would really help to mix things up. Playing just a low game would be kinda fun and i think it would go over really well if sites started making them apart of their sites.
