Default How much do I love my husband?

A whole lot!!!!

First he bought me a new poker chip set. I'll take pictures and post them in a few as my camera is out in the car, and well, I am too lazy to go and get it right now. It is by American Heritage, who also make Billiards tables, etc. I wanted slightly heavier chips (more of the 12 g range) but I like these. We've been playing with our friend's set (whom for the purposes of protecting the guilty and undeserving, I shall nickname Gun Nut) which feature the San Antonio Spurs Logo. The problem with those particular chips is that it is difficult to differentiate between the black and white chips.

Second, he got me tickets to go see Texas Hippie Coalition tonight. They are my new favorite band. Imagine if Pantera and Lynyrd Skynyrd got together and had an ugly love child.

He even got a sitter for tonight so we can go together!!! Yeah!!!

And as a side note: tomorrow is my last day of teaching for a while. I give my students their finals tomorrow and then I finish my last bits of research and starting in August, I write my dissertation!!!! Yeah!!!! Almost done!

Man I miss the Texas music scene!!! Actually used to hang out where Pantera was the house band in Dallas. if you get a chance to see Pimpadelic, or Stinkbug, they are friends of mine. the lead singer in the pimps is the bastard nephew of David Allen Coe. Pantera was a hair/glitter band when I first came across them. Have fun at the show!!!!

Savage: There are some new bands that if you like THC, you might want to keep an eye on... Snake Skin Prison and Destruction Evolution. But check out the attached pic, I took it just for you...

I had a great time and actually impressed that husband of mine while we were there. There was one guy, a serious tweaker, whom we affectionately nicknamed Capt Wifebeater (stained wife beater, hadn't shaved in about 2 weeks, sweating like a fat kid running after the ice cream truck). Mike and I were standing near our table and he was dancing to the music in his own head as the bands hadn't even started yet. I turn and face the table, and he saddles up behind me, still dancing and grabs my behind. Mike stood up, along with the rest of the men at our table. I turned my head over my shoulder and said something to the effect of "You need to remove your hand or I will forcibly remove it for you" and he returned with "I can do what I want, when I want" followed with some rather colorful language equating me with a female dog.

Now, what Capt Wifebeater failed to realize, that while I might only be 5ft 2, I have been taking Krav Maga for the past year, and just moved to Level Three. Krav Maga is the self defense techniques used by the Israeli Defense Force. It was recommended to me by my boss because sometimes scenes can be chaotic so a good self defense course is mighty handy at times. In a year, I've never had to use it but it is an awesome thing. I caught his chin with my elbow and stepped very hard down on his instep with my high heels. When he stood back up, he saw Mike, and the others and decided that he had enough.

But I had a great time! Enjoy the pic!

So the road to a woman's heart is to give her a chipset and buy her tickets for a hardrock band. Ok, got it.

Wow, would have loved to see you kick some ass. Never heard of Krav Maga before.

Glad I could be of help, Kaart! According to Mike, I'm pretty cheap date... Oh, wait, was that my outside voice? Guess my secret is out now!
