Guess I should introduce myself.

I'm embarrased to say that I really got into poker after the movie rounders. I had played before that, but it made me realize that there was skill and strategy in the game and not just a way to kill time and money.

I joined a local poker game, no legal games in Texas. So I learned the ropes and slowly got better and started winning. After a while I was kicked out of the game. So I had to find another game.

I found a new game and we started playing no limit. Not many people played here most nights we just had 3 or 4 players. I remember busting the entire table on one hand and was afraid noone would come back. Fortuanatly they did. More people started showing up and they started getting better.

A couple of people from that game have appeared on some televised events. I don't play there much anymore, new job has me pretty busy.

I have played in the Jack Binion: World Poker Open the last 2 years. I played against Hon Le my first year, that was neet. I played with Scott Fishman on my left for 5 hours this year and busted him.

I'm no pro by any means. Just a hobby. I hope to hit a big payout one of these days. Mostly I play online now, since I can play any chance I get.

Hehe no need to be embarressed I know countless friends who gained interest to poker through 'Rounders' =], it was a great movie.

Thats amazing that some of your old poker buddies have been on televised events!! Do you still keep in touch with them?

I also play no limit, we have a local 9 player table that meets twice a week and plays tournament style, winner take all with second place recieving their buy-in back.

Goodluck on hitting that payoff =], as long as it's not against me.

in the game i know u said ur not a pro but you played with pros.
me i only been playing for 5 month and every day i learn more an more
plus i'm gonna chk out tht movie rounders i hear is a great flick

Hey Bonkey. It is nice to have some fresh faces around here. It is also great to some more people that have played in some big tournaments. I hope to play some poker with you online. I play at almost only PokerStars. My name is cky12. I play mostly .25/.50 limit holdem, but some small buy-in MTTs. Where do you play and what types of games/stakes?

My Poker Journal

I still go play every once and a while. The 2 guys who where on the Poker Royal show, one came in first the other finished second to Andy Bloch. We all went to the WPO together this last time(January). So I still see them every now and then.
