its basically the uk but with the good weather - lol
seriously, its beautiful. I stayed in the heart of sydney for the full 6 (or was it 7) weeks. Worked two days for time magazine just across sydney bridge doing crappy manual input (i actually saw a guy i went to uni with in glasgow on the train one day to work....at the other side of the planet...weird!)
then worked a day and a half at westpac selling death insurance- the guy was a complete tool pusing you to sell to pensioners etc so i walked out during the middle of the second day there. Then me and my mate basically spent the next 5 weeks going to the olympic swimming pool and then getting pissed on that cheap boxed wine you get there (its very expensive for beer in oz - for example $7 for a schooner some pubs but it was only $10 for 4 litres of much stronger wine - i know us scots and irish have a bad reputation for drinking but come on - you do the math!!!)
was supposed to stay a full year and left after about two months. In short, i got sick of the fact they offer backpackers crap jobs at terrible pay so i headed back to asia where i was spending about 15-20% of what i was spending per day in oz.
im definately gonna go back at one point and do australia, new zealand and perhaps fiji
