Obviously it's strange of me to ask since I won the hand but I'm curious if it was right. If the flop is rainbow or 2-flush, I check and try to trap him. But with the 3-flush on board, I really don't want him to see a free card and beat me with a diamond on turn and/or river.

However, this happened twice earlier today (once in the same tourney, one in the prior one) and when I bet, they folded each time.

Would you have done the same?

I would have checked the set. But youre right, one more Diamond would have been scary indeed. Even a 3d would have beaten you if he held one. Chances are very very slim heads up that your opp has the flush. But it really depends on who you are playing against. Generally speaking, if your opp was a bully, definately check and trap, you want him to raise for you. If not, and he is a timid player, play it straight up, maybe bet slightly less in the hopes he caught something or wants to hang on to his ace/king. But you know that already
On that board I think you played it right, you were unlucky to get a flush board like that. Too risky to lose a set with, better to take the small pot and move on.

I think your bet on the flop was not high enough. He called your preflop raise and maybe was holding a high diamond card. If he did he would have called your 200 bet. Betting at least double would have made him fold and not chase the flush. But apparently he was not holding a diamond (Ace).

On your question: you made the right decision by betting, no need to take any risks. With blinds of 50 the pot was big enough to take it right there. I don't know if you had any reads on your opponent but I would suggest never to slowplay an opponent who is not better in poker than you are.

No need to take risks? Chit Kaart? wanna play HU with me? are you serious? HU is a all about risk and value. My 24suited is better than your AQo in some curcumstances HU is fun.And im good at it.
And i disagree, HU is all about risks, YEs with a set you had to take that risk, good lord, oods are LOW than any one can beat your pair , let alone anothign higher. HU is easy pickings. Just dont move all in without outs.

Do I want to play HU against you? Hell yeah!
