1st hand you were a dog preflop to win the pot (8 outs between them) and they flopped 4 more outs -- would it have affected you the same way if the river had been a A K or Q?

2nd hand - another danger of getting all the chips in preflop... once the chips are in there is no way you can get away from the hand even if you know you are beat. You have to remember, there is no such thing as a "bad beat" when you are all in before the flop as poker odds are not astronimical. If you plunk down a bet on a 6-way street in roulette and hit it you have just overcome bigger odds than ANY preflop poker hand ever has.

Taking a week off is never a bad idea, if you aren't enjoying yourself there is really no point to play.

I say losing A-10 to AA is a bad beat. And he was put all in. When you share a card like that, you are an INCREDIBLE favorite. Of course, Fink would tell you to Fold AA pre-flop here One maxim I like is this: If yo uwould play the hand the same way if you could see your opponents cards, then you played it right. And I dont think ANY of us would fold AA against A 10 pre-flop. If you would, please come to my table.

Having said that, bad beats are part of poker. It IS gambling. You take chances everytime you make a bet. Sometimes, you get the shaft. Take the holiday week off and get your breath. Come back new and improved.

Merry Christmas all
