Default What did we have?

Time for a game of what did we have. Ive got $20 for the person who can guess my hole cards exactly, including suits. Also $10 for the person who gets closest to his hole cards. If no one guessed mine exactly then I will give the closest person $10. If you guess more than once your disqualified. The reason I chose this hand is because this is the type of hand where you really have to know your opponent and what they may be holding.

This little game is not sponsored by THF, so if you have any complaints do not take them up with Fonz. I promise to be honest and to pay anyone who gets it right. The prizes will be paid to a Poker Stars account. If you dont have one I can not pay you, so please dont participate...sorry.

This contest ends on 12/19/05 at 10pmET, any posts after that will not count.

Alright Prof, I'm giving you some credit and putting you on quads. At first thought, I really didn't want to do this for many reasons. But after thinking about it, the play you made would suit quads perfectly. You are a big stack, very big for the blinds, even though there is a monster at your table. You are in steal position, one from the button, and it is folded to you. Pretty much any two cards would be fine to raise with in your situation, especially a decent hand like QJo. You get a call from the BB. You flop a huge hand, so of course you slow play it. You want to make it look like you were indeed trying to steal the blinds but then back down when you get a call and miss the flop so that your opponent might bet the turn. He does, you continue the slow play. A raise on the turn might drive your opponent out of the hand. You hit the nuts on the river, your opponent bets the exact same as on the flop, which might seem fishy in a regular case, but you value bet your nuts, really wanting a call.

Your opponent had a middle pocket pair. I'm guessing 66. This would be an appropriate call preflop when it looks like you are trying to steal his blind. Flop is a pair on the board and one under card. He doesn't put you on the queen, but since you were the preflop aggressor, he gives you the chance to stab at the pot again. Since you don't bet, he does on the turn, even though it brought an overcard, he doesn't think you have him beat. You call, making it look like you might have two high cards, like KJ or AJ. River is a queen, so he has a boat, definitely doesn't put you on the case queen, and still doesn't think you have an 8 or higher pocket pair. He bets out again, but only for the same amount. This bet does confuse me, and might throw off my judgement of his and/or your hand. I would think that he would make it more than his turn bet, maybe 1500 total. You raise him up, but not a whole lot compared to his bet. He thinks you are trying to steal the pot and makes the call.

Now it will be interesting to read some of the other answers.
