the simple answer is you cant. The guy called very high raises to the river and then hit his flush. In short, guys like this will bust you from time to time buy more often or not they wont hit their flush and youll bust them.

I dont think you could have done anything to stop this guy calling

Totally agree. He put you between a rock and a hard spot hopeing you would fold but willing to take a chance if you didn't. Hope it was only a dollar tourny.

i disagree, you didnt play it hard enough.

He called your check-raise of only 200 more cause he had a 35% chance of hitting his flush, a hand in which you made it pretty obvious you had a King.

After that A fell giving you top 2 pair, you should have went all in, making him decide if a 1 card flush chance with a Queen high flush with Ace still possible and a J for a gutshot straight was worth it. Even at that point some fish still like to gamble, but with only 12 outs to improve his hand, he would have been stupid to call at that point considering you had 4 more outs to improve yours even higher. You were 75/25 to win before the river.

Personally I thought the check raise was clever, but with someone having the possiblity of 4 cards to a flush from the flop, you should have led out a bet that would make him not even want to play his 4 hearts. Even if he called the bet you made, you should have bet way over 300 after the turn. I know you wanted to milk him with the big slick with K on the flop, but remember, its better to win many small pots then one big pot. But then again, its gambling, and thats what you, and he did.

I hope this helps

I agree with all in on the turn. That seems in retroscept the only way to get him out, but he STILL might have called it- he seemed determined to pay for that draw. Tough call.
