Yeah I won, big whoop. Did I overplay that way too much? I wanted to scare some out and pray for a low flop and bet them out. But did I play it too hard?

Well, I would never have won that hand that early in a tourny I would have only called his raise and then folded if he made a big bet after the flop. I LOVE PPs but I'll lay them down to a big bet when more than one over hits the board and most of the time to one big bet if the flop shows an A K or Q

I love pp's also...but I don't want anyone to see the flop before they decide if they are going to call me...I take my chances with them and go all-in pre-flop...now I don't always do this...sometimes I won't even limp in with them.

As I said in other post...I have done well with pre-flop all-ins with pp's and to me 22 is just as good as QQ...in the past year most of the times I have had unpaired callers and won most of them...lately I am getting paired callers...so I am a little more cautious with them now...but being cautious, I don't win nearly as many hands.

it totally depends on the player(s) you are up against. If they will continue AK or something after a missed flop then I like it, if they are not getting involved in many pots I would have folded it to the big raise......But fink is right, I think it is way to early to be getting this nuts with a pair of dogballs, pun intended.

as for the preflop raise, I think it might be a bit much for the position you are in but, again, it depends on the flow of the table, and you did have a few limpers in there to fatten the pot.

22 IS just as good as QQ... IF your opponent has AA KK or AK! Like I said a while back, I can't justify moving all in preflop with a pair under QQ unless I am shortstacked. If you move in with JJ or less, then if you get a caller you are more than likely going to have a coinflip at best. Too me, I just don't want my tourny life hanging on a 50/50 shot unless you are in the final few of the tourny when you normally just don't get to see a flop unless all your chips are in the middle.

I didn't say to hang your tourney life on it...you still need a taller bank than your opponent!
