I have been finding that Limit SNG's are a great way to make a few bucks.

Now don't get me wrong, you get outdrawn, it happens, but even when you do it does not cost you all your chip stack. If you run into some nut raising you you can control them with the ole check call. I think you should try a few of these and i think you'll find it creates a lot less frustration.
I have thought it through. For the past 2 weeks i have been outdrawn every single time I get a great hand. I know some of you may think it's only every now and then it happens, but for me, it isn't. It always happens and i never get a break from it! I can play perfect poker but lose on an outdraw. Like I said, I need to find some serious luck charms before I re-install those sites back to my computer.

I'm not saying this to be cruel, but if you can't take the beats maybe you should quit playing poker. I know it happens a lot on RIVERstars, but that's poker. Try you luck at fulltiltpoker, the outdraws are few and far apart.

I have been on a break for about 2 months now. I've deleted all but PS and pokerhost from my puter. I still can't bring myself to put money in the account with the beats I've had. 3 SnG's in a row I had the top possible trips on the flop. all 3 hands someone put me all in. all three hands the turn and river gave these idiots (bluffer or owner of 1 great program) the winning hand. The last straw was when a guy bluffing with a 2 3 os went all-in and I had pp A's. he caught trip 3's. now tell me that there isn't a random card reader out there!

Bad beat don't just happen online, some of the worst bad beats I've ever seen have happend playing live. That is the way the game works, there is an element of luck involved. I don't care how good you are, you can't escape the luck factor.

I can agree with you that there are bad beats every where. and the worst that i've seen was probably the brick and morter game where 3 full boats and a straight showed in 1 hand. BUT! the level of frequency on line is way off. And I am not talking about the freerolls or play money. I'm talking the $5, $10, and $20 SnG's. I know that the sites would be crazy to try and have fixed players. Luck can only go so far. That leaves a Random Card Reader program out there.

The reason you tend to see more "bad beats" online is two fold.
#1 - It is much easier to try and bluff an opponant online as well as call an opponant you believe is bluffing due to the lack of physical proximaty.
#2 - There are more hands dealt online than in a B&M appoximatly 55-60 hands per hour are seen online as opposed to 25-35 in a B&M this causes the frequency in which you see bad beats to seem to go up. However it isnt always the callers fault. I myself have made a few one outers both live and online. They happen and it is one of the best aspects of poker.
I agree with the arrogant but brilliant Phil Helmuth when he said and i quote " If it werent for luck i'd win every tournament I enter."
God I dislike that man...But anyway everyone can only play their best and let the cards decide who wins or....
You can accept the "luck" factor which by the way is shared by all both good and bad or you can play chess....
I hope this helps.

I dig your pain Unisin, but I think that even more than a hiatus from online poker you may need a shift in perspective. From the looks of your hand histories you are being outdrawn quite a bit, but I'd like to see the HHs for all the hands where you outdrew someone else. You must have done this at least a few times to have any bankroll left.

I find that we all get too caught up in the bad beats we receive and fail to focus on the bad beats we give. Also, when we start bogging ourselves down in negative thoughts blaming the cards we miss a great opportunity to reflect within and figure out why we are getting so many bad beats. Maybe our reads aren't as sharp as they should be. Maybe we're playing at a limit where we just can't hang. Maybe we're playing when we're tired, hungry, have something else on the mind, have the TV on, etc. and these things are keeping us from being as wise as we should be when playing. I know I've been on a terrible streak lately dropping almost half of my roll in the past 6 weeks. Lately I've been playing with a sense of urgency as though I have to get my cash back THIS HAND or in THIS TOURNAMENT as opposed to focusing on being solid at the tables and building up slowly again.

So take a break. I live in Pittsburgh too so give me a hollar and I'll buy you a beer to help you forget about your bad streak of cards

OH SAVE THE DRIVEL!!! I've been playing cards for approx 40 yr's. Yes POKER. I don't stay against an all-in unless there is something worth the wild to stay with. Not 1, Not 2, but 3 SnG's in a row. The top trips on the board after the flop. all 3 I was put all-in by an IDIOT, bluffer or program user. In 2 out of the 3 they needed and got the cards they needed on the turn and river. REPEATING they put me all-in with NOTHING. As I said earlier with my last hand on line for cash. If you are going to bluff pre-flop you are going to do it with more than a 2 3 os.

Some of the beats you take are because the style of your play. I would have to agree with you about pokerstars being rigged. I have played there for 7 years now and I know how pokerstars works. I would try another site if i were you.
