Default Whats the logical way to answer to this all in preflop?

This is how I got knocked out of the $2 tournament earlier today. Blinds were 75/150 and i have 1,000 more than the average. I got QQ and its funny because I got QQ 5 other times in that tournament. The guy in seat 8 goes all in. AK KK AA are scare cards for me. Any A or K could beat me. But I know they are most likely drawing or have a smaller pocket pair. If I lose I'm out but if I win, I'm set. So I call.

PokerStars Game #1726972610: Tournament #7944062, Hold'em No Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2005/05/19 - 12:19:12 (ET)

Looking back on this, I think this hand should've been folded. QQ looks like a great hand at first, but it only takes a K or A to beat you. I also had above the average so I don't think it was necesarry to risk my tournament life. If i had less, sure I'd call. But above the average, I don't think it was a smart play.

What would you have done about this? Trust me, it was really hard to call, and really hard to fold.

I was put in this position about 3-4 days ago in a tournament...I had QQ and someone before me went all-in. I folded that hand. Anyone with that chip count would probably not want to initiate an all-in with anything less than pocket K's or pocket rockets. Him going all in with AJ was a strange occurence and usually wouldn't be the case. Tourny play....I don't play unless I am pretty damn sure that I have the best hand, no need to cut out the skill and call a pre-flop all-in with the 3'rd best hand in the game. Calling an all-in with pocket K's for you would PROBABLY be the right pre-flop call, but not QQ or anything less. This is just my logic. Hope this helped some.

Im staying in with Qs myself.Win or lose I wont feel bad about it.But if he the board comes up small and I folded Im gonna be a little upset.Thats just my preference. You got rivered but I think you made the right call.

Like xtra said, I stay with queens in situations like that. If I lose, tough luck. Stuff like that happens but I know I was beat by a good hand when I also had a good hand. QQ is a premium hand. It really is a great hand. If someone has AK, then they only have 6 outs (not counting any flush or straight possibilities). If they have either an ace or king, then there are only 3 outs. In these situations, QQ is an overwhelming favorite. The only time it should be close is against AK, because that is just like any low pocket pair against overs. Your opponent made a very stupid play in going all-in. There is no value to that. All-ins like that are just not good moves. You made a good call, and he got lucky. It happens and it really sucks, but you played it right, and at least you can leave the tourney knowing that you played the hand correctly.

personally I never like calling an all in with as little as qq there is too great a chance of being dominated by kk or aa and AKos is a coin toss and you are probably a tiny dog to AKs.

I will call IF i think that the person has been making alot of very agressive all-in kind of plays AND there are few players to act after you. With 4 players after you you are openning yourself up to someone having a hand after you. As far as I can see in this sit it is an easy fold. That being said in the likes of freerolls and 2$ there is a greater chance of people having absolutely nothing so calls are more acceptable than they are at higher stakes.

If there was only 1 player to act after you and you could call for 50% of your stack or the person had been going all in a lot or was under blind pressure then i would consider calling - as it stands - easy fold.

Still you were a big favourite as it transpires so maybe you read him right. Still i wouldnt want to call an all-in with QQ with 4 players to act I have run against AA and KK too many times.
