i think id make about a pot sized bet, in order to get a call there, the all in there, prob. made him think trip 7s off the bat, a little less and maybe he doesnt think that.

I may have checked all the way down. Each round you checked and he bet more. If he had, say 10s or A J, the queen may have scared him when you went all in. If you checked the queen, he may have put you on a small pair (obviously not 7s), and bet a large amount that you could have re-raised. I think that is the only way you get more chips out of this hand.

Anyway, nice hand and pot.

I have to agree that the all in bet was not needed. There are times you do that to make people think you are trying to steal the pot. This was not one of those times. He saw you cold call Preflop, The Flop, and then the Turn. In his mind he is thinking this guy must have a hand. So, when you went all in on the river it was a pretty easy fold if he only had something like a pair like 88 or 66. Certainly he does not have a big pair. Seems reasonable to think he has an over pair to the 77 most likely the 88 maybe even 99. The Queen could have been a scare card for him. Plus he was playing a bit weak with a 150 bet at a 800 pot then a 250 at a 1100 possibly. Or it was a feeler bet to figure what you might have. It's possible even a pot sized bet might run him off. It depends on whether he had been playing tight or not. I would have made a 1/2 pot bet to see what he would do. Any lower and he might think you are hoping for a call and fold anyway.
