Default Why?

I still never understand why this happens...as you can see this was in a tournament nonetheless....who even plays K6 in the first half of the tournament and this is on what? level 2? I figured when that K came out it was his...but he was calling bets with a 6 KICKER? Just astonishes me...

I am no great shakes at limit tourneys but do make a profit and 2-3table sng limit tourneys and here are my thoughts

1) in NL players will sometimes play rubbish start cards am because of the big profits they remember sometimes making they continue to do so. If a board doesnt have an A on if players will sometimes call bets to see if a K appears thinking they will get good implied odds if it does. This is particularly common when they dont think anyone has got anything better than top boarded pair at best. These players sometimes play limit and make very little strategy adjustments even although they will be getting nothing near implied odds for this play.

2) some players who are quite good at limit tourneys play in apparently reckless ways early to advertise for when the blinds are much higher

3) many players are just rubbish and either dont realise this or just dont care. I have found even playing in a 30$MTT there were a lot of opponents who didnt really seem to know what they were doing - some thought it was NL and only realised their mistake too late others were just rubbish players. As MTT's of limit take ages many good players at limit will make their profits at ring games where they can exploit their reads of 1 player beyond what they could in a tourney and bad beats will not stop them from making a decent and predictable profit rate per hour. 3-4 hours into a MTT a string of bad beats could leave you out of the money or just in the money getting virtually nothing for your time. Bad players can play for 2-3 hours and have a slim chance of winning big money which they couldnt do at .5/1 tables but they can only lose their buy in not all of their bankroll. This means that you get a lot of rubbish players at 5-30$ limit tourneys and not all that many serious poker players. Thats my view anyway.
