I wouldn't feel comfortable calling.

I think what gets you in some trouble here are your bets both preflop and on the flop. The SB has good odds to call preflop, and this makes it a little more difficult to access his hand. You are comfortably stacked, so why not make a standard raise here.

On the flop you bet small again when I think I bigger bet is in order. AJ on the flop is strong but vulnerable and it looks a big risk letting him on so cheaply.
Your playing an opponent with a similar stack to yours and if you choose to do that I think you have to ask some questions of him and hopefully gain some information.
He's getting around 4 to 1 on the flop and 2.5 to 1 preflop.

By the turn..without any previous reads, I'm lost and wishing I wasn't in the hand. I don't know what he has but a monster hand can fit.

Very tough spot....playing back through hand, 7 is right, you need to raise more pre and bet the flop hard..like 2/3rds pot here..he has to fold his KQ then...

if he calls my big 2/3rds bet il probs check the turn back...because you can narrow his range to a 10...a rag ace, or a set (he could also maybe have 9 J here but there are barely any draws so we're mainly looking at made hands)....2 of those hands your way ahead (so theres not need to bet to protect) and probably wont call a turn bet...the third your way behind so you dont need to bet....and will just lose more...

now if you check the turn and the river bricks....the player will think your weak..if they had 9 J and miss they may take a stab...they may value bet their weak ace (when tehy porbs wud fold turn) and they'll check their ten, but probably call a bet because you showed soo much weakness....so your getting soo much more value from weaker hands...

if they have a set they'll bet and you'll call, but you'll lose a lot less than if you had bet turn.

A turn check when theres no big reason to bet (but when your pretty strong) is a good weapon to add to your arsenal, both for value and deception.

As played, Im playing by reads...aslong as the guy isn't overly agressive/bluffy im probs folding though....

think that come river it is hard to call.

It is impossible almost to put him on a straight but hard to think your 2 pair aj will be winning.

In addition to what others have said I am not sure about the call of the reraise on the turn. If you think he has you on the turn then fold if not seriously consider reraising, the turn could be quite easily a bluff he may read you as weak or bluffable in this position. CAlling here is setting up for trouble on a dangerous board, I think we often instinctively call in these situations but it is the type of play that gets us in to trouble.
