It was but If im honest i dont like how you played the hand...you would never have got that value bet out of me on the river (it was very obvious you had a monster)...bet third to half the pot on the flop and theres no way he gives you the king (with JJ most players shove on you with that flop and your c/bet)...then you get his stack in on the turn...sorry if i sound harsh but im just trying to help your game...

I loved the way you played this personaly. You don't want to scare him out of the pot, you want some action. You got the action when you bet 450 on the river and he called! He must have thought his JJ was going to hold
(for what ever reason..2$ buyin?)..He was playing no foldem holdem. Great hand! Thank you for sharing!

If he's playing no foldem holdem, shouldn't lurock be betting the entire way?

The min bet on the the turn is HIGHLY suspicious. After raising preflop, why would lurock bet so little on the turn? Frankly, any player with any bit of skill would know lurock had at least trips on the turn, and if they didn't fold on the turn, would certainly fold the river bet.

I see your point Cali about scaring him off but put yourself in Lurocks oppenents shoes.

Hes watched a 3 x BB preflop raise...hes checked it over to the agressor showing weakness only to see the agressor check behind on a paired board...

If this doesn't set alarm bells ringing he then sees the agressor bet the absolute minimum into a reasonable sized pot after hes checked a 2nd time.

A player with even below average skill should sense something here and against an average or better player he doesn't get that 450 river bet called.

Lurock - You got called because you were playing very low stakes but when you move up you will need to bet your big hands strongly in most cases (assuming your agressive and continuation bet alot of flops) because otherwise players will notice when you clam up....players always take notice when you do something out of the ordinary so if your usually agressive...stay agressive when you have a big hand too and you will be paid off (this also helps your table image. If players seeing you leading out with 4 of a kind, next time when your AK completly misses teh flop they will be more likely to lay down even hands as big as 2nd-weak top pair to your continuation bet). Obviously if your not the preflop agressor you can play it more passively to suck your oppenent in, but usually you should play your hands fast. (Though you obviously need to mix it up a bit to remain unpredictable and adapt to your oppenents agressiveness and general tendencies, aswell as table image).

I hope this advice helps somewhat.

thx for the advice ,it will help in future calls LOl

i'll explain my play, when i saw the flop i knew i was a winner so i asked myself
how many chips can get from this hand, when he called the 450 i was like yes i got catch, i had a feeling he was fishing with his play an he couldnt hurt me with his stack so i try to get as much chips as i can an when he figured it out i had all i wanted, an i was goin 2show the Kings
