Firstly, how would you play this hand?

Opponent has good reads and will not give up chips easily.

Secondly, let's say you play the hand as shown.
You think you're ahead on the river. Much may depend on table image here and previous plays but I'd be interested in your views on how you'd bet the river to get maximum value.

Seat 1: (860 in chips)
Seat 2: (1275 in chips) is sitting out
Seat 3: (2725 in chips)
Seat 4: (2050 in chips)
Seat 5: (1460 in chips)
Seat 6: (1730 in chips)
Seat 7: (1730 in chips)
Seat 8: (4670 in chips)
Seat 9: YOU (1500 in chips)
Seat 8: posts small blind 15
Seat 9: posts big blind 30

Dealt to YOU

Seat 1: folds
Seat 2: folds
Seat 3: folds
Seat 4: folds
Seat 5: raises 90 to 120
Seat 6: folds
Seat 7: folds
Seat 8: folds
YOU: calls 90

*** FLOP ***

YOU: checks
Seat 5: bets 120
YOU: calls 120

*** TURN ***

YOU: bets 240
Seat 5: calls 240

*** RIVER ***

YOU: bets 390
Seat 5: calls 390

I think I would have checked the turn and let him bet into me and then just called...if he did bet the turn, then I would have also checked the river and followed up with a check raise. If he checked the turn then I would have bet heavy on the river....he then thinks I'm stealing. On the turn he thinks I am weak. there are no flush cards and he has the Ace.

But you really have to read his image of you as to whether you would slow play a big hand here.

Yeah makes sense Crapshoot. Thanks for the reply. I put him on the Ace at least. I was sure I was ahead and they way you say may have earned me more chips.
