Default How in the world does this guy make this call preflop?

Its not like he has me outchipped by a whole lot. If I double through him he is the low stack and im sitting pretty good. Not to mention the fact that the button limped and could easily call and then his hand cannot look good.

This is the kinda shit i've been running into lately. Terrible calls and yet somehow they hit these miracles.

Sorry, had to vent.

I see this happening every single day. No idea what these people are thinking, though...

I would think he could find a better hand but I don't' think it was all that bad of a call. Heads up you can make that call with a pretty wide range of cards. Depending on your table image I could see the reasoning that if he put you on small pockets his K would be good if it hit. Also, if he put you on Ax then his cards were live so if he didn't see an Ace on the flop he had a chance to be strong.

Granted it sucks that the 4s are what he caught but really all he needed was a K (1:3). Probably a bit of a loose call but I've seen a lot worse.

Personally I'd have waited for a better look but if you had been playing aggressive all game then maybe.

Those are always frustrating.

Thats kind of why I was upset, I had a pretty tight image. I was looking to double up for a while so I had been folding a lot. Plus, he wasnt HU with me. Another guy was in the pot and had yet to act AFTER he had already limped, so he had some sort of hand.

No he wasnt and yes I was. 450 more to him represents about 1/7.5 of his stack. Would you call if 1/7.5 of your stack was at stake with k4 off?

I'd shove preflop at that spot with 99 and 10BB after someone limps. Reason being that the BB could call and get you into a 3way flop situation. That probably only happens like 20% of the time, give or take, but it really puts you in a bad spot. I don't want to get in a 3 way flop when two overs hit or an ace hits and you're first to act with 99 and 6BB.

Otherwise, your play is standard. Shoving flop is fine. Funny limp on the button with K4o there, lol.

I think that the tighter your image the easier that call is to make. It would be easy to put you on AK-AT or pairs JJ-55 maybe. The pairs probably unlikely because a lot of players would push with any pair in that situation. Same could be said about AK-AT for that matter.

Let's say he gives you credit for the range stated above. Any flop that doesn't include an Ace he probably feels is good. If an Ace flops then he can get out and he's still 2nd in chips. Nothing changes.

3 handed anything is fair game. Regardless of your hand you're going to miss most of the time so it doesn't surprise me to see ATC (Any Two Cards) play at that point.

Let me also add, I think it was a dumb call... but I can see the reasoning...
