The person making the re-raise had limped from 2nd position, and the only hand i could give him was Aces. It was very tough to make the laydown and i keep second guessing myself. was it the right fold in your opinion?

THF Player of the Year
Really tough one I think - harder since we don't know the players and you did.

If you put him on AA then I'd say good fold.

A raise and four calls infront of him and he doesn't appear to be worried . He just has to be playing a very strong hand there doesn't he?

I really don't know myself. I might of called.

I'd definitely put villain on a monster, but I'm not sure he necessarily has AA. Ultimately, though...look at it this way: you either folded the better hand with 5 cards to go, or you saved yourself $13.37.

Good fold

I don't think villain has aces here. Why not? He comes over the top for 7.5x your raise. Ok, of course you want to narrow the field, but this raise is just too big. $10-$12 would've been aces I think, but not $15.. With aces he wants at least one call, and with this raise I think he was pretty sure everyone would be folding. I put him on a hand like TT or JJ, and I would for sure have come over the top again.

I think a flat call would be the worst play here, it was either push or fold. I figured with only $2 invested and a strong gut instinct he had aces, it wasn't worth it.

I've gone bust several times in cash games preflop when i was 90% sure they had aces and still went ahead and called/pushed all in against my read (this is the first time i've laid down KK pre-flop). I've been trusting my reads recently and my results have improven considerably (this was probably another factor).

He could have had 10 10 or JJ (or even something like a suited connector and he was just making a play), and if he did have one of those hands i commend him for a good play, it's just a shame i'll never know. Thank you guys for your feedback, much appreciated.

nice to see you improving. you came into a flaky situation and made the smart, money winning move over the long run. for this specific hand you may have had him beat, but I would say a majority of the time someone makes this play he has aces. nice fold, good to see you improving.

Thank you very much Chilli! I do feel as though my game has improved, i'm able to make the tough laydowns i couldn't make before, and have learnt to trust my reads.
