low level rebuys, you push preflop with premium hands, and hope they hold up, it's all you can do.

Did you happen to check his stats on Sharkscope? He is an incredibly bad player so his play there is consistant with his losing ways, Unfortunately players will take out a much superior player on occasion. Sorry man for the hose job. You deserved much better.

His Pokerdb stats have winnings over 125K................ But most of it was from a 2nd place finish in a $200 buy in (97K). I think hes one of those players with little skill at poker and lots of luck .... He likes to play larger buy ins. Think if you find him at your table just avoid action with him. Too unpredictable.

Alrighty, did you come to your opinion by actually running the numbers? Or did you simply look at his net loss... yeah, thought so. He has only played 51 games and is down 16 buyins. "Incredibly bad player" may be a bit of a stretch. Looks like he is simply on a bad run at the moment, $2100 of the $3100 he is down are from his last 7 sngs.

Little skill and lots of luck seems to have gotten him over $8000 in cashes, 4 final tables and 3 top 4s in the last 2 weeks, what a donkey. Incidentally, his 2nd place in the PokerStars Sunday Tourny was worth $130,000 due to a heads up chop and the field was over 5500 players.

The fact that someone plays high buyin tournys should be a plus on their resume, how many times have you complained about the horrible play in your $10 and under tournys that you play? He plays the high buyins which means the quality of poker is that much higher, right?

The guy must have the cash to burn, and just because he has some positive results doesn't make him a good player in my book. His play is very reckless but it appears he can afford to play that way. I don't know for how long though. He was playing in a $3 re-buy not the high buy-ins listed on his database so his playing style may already be catching up wit him. Is he the kind of player you would want to stake if you had the cash to do so? Not me .

Okay..again, with rebuys - I remember a case where a pro (forget which one) went through roughly $700 in a $10 rebuy. However...he ended up taking 5th in the tourney, as there were a ton of chips at his tables...and so he cased for over $5k. There is an advantage to constantly pushing on the table!

In terms of staking him...I've heard many pros say they're more likely to stake the aggressive player than the passive, safe player in the WSOP...simply because they have the better chance of going far.

They also have a better chance of getting knocked out on the first day. Survival to making the cash is the goal and then opening up your game. I think a more solid type player is a better choice.

ya me too. and just because the guy plays in big buy ins doesnt show a thing. there are all kinds of rich people that play higher buy ins just to learn the game. they do this simply because a 5 dollar tourney doesnt hold their attention.
