Well..to be fair on that hand - he was betting the entire way, representing strength. It just so happened that he hit a straight on the river. Personally, I don't see how soundrelin8 could have called that bet on the river, there was the open ended straight on the board, no way his TPTK could still be solid.

Yes but when you get your money in before the flop, its still 3:1, whether it be by the ace hitting or by the pair getting countered.
