It is normal in that you should expect to see other people play that way, but with 2 T 8 his mistake here was probably getting in the hand to start with.

Yeh, not a good hand to get in the pot with.

During the hand, I was half expecting hparham to raise somewhere on 5th or to raise on 6th to ask questions.

Then after the showdown, I thought that although he didnt play his hand very strongly , it was difficult for me to criticize the way he did play it(barring his initial call)

Personally 7, I'm confused with how you played it - why didn't you raise with your QTQ? Whenever I get a pair Queens or higher, I raise, as anyone with a hidden pp better than you will raise, and will also force some of the mediocre hands out.

In Hi/lo, any pair but aces on 3rd is junk, low limits at least.

7's play is fine here because the pot is huge.

Ahhh...that may be why I hate the 7 card stud and its hi/lo variation (unless playing horse, where the 2nd and 3rd time around these games have very good stealing opportunities)
