Default How are you playing this.

THF Player of the Year
Extremely tight table. 5 left 4 get paid. I call, and with the tightness of the play, I think even that gives me with a chance of being heads-up with the big-blind.

Colin5042 had played very solid. cazaroo ok too but liked a 50-50 gamble. BooHewerdine isnt good. He's played loose and has been so unbelievably lucky it's untrue. I don't know how he's sat here.

So what are you doing different here? Raise it preflop? Raise the flop?
I don't feel safe on the river but I'm in of course.

Well I'm in the money, hard-up for hands and I face a preflop raise to my JJ.

That river wasnt a nice way to end the night. I played crap last night but tonight I played well, so I'm feeling sorry for myself here.
He has a stack but wow, with ante's and 800 blinds thats a big call with his A4o. I told BooHewer that he should be playing at higher stakes tonight

First hand:
A flop call is fine, you have enough outs to where raising is a fairly attractive option.

On the turn, I'm just taking the free card.

Second hand:
I think I would have played it the same.

1st hand once he checks the turn you need to either check or push the rest of your 2100 instead of semi-bluffing for 1200. He was fishing the open ended straight and would have called it anyways but when the pot is already over 4000 and you only have 2100 left with 300/600 blinds Id push the entire 2100 on my semi bluff rather than bet 1200.

THF Player of the Year
Thanks for the replies, I did think that there might be differences in opinions on this hand. I can see that both your points of view make sense.

Referring to the 1st hand:

On the turn, I havnt made a hand but I have very good outs. His preflop call didnt suggest to me that he was on a big hand.
The type of player he was, it was difficult for me to put him on a hand. I could have him on chasing the straight but could also as easily guess he's playing 2 hearts, Ax ( and he's hit 2 pair possibly) or a small to medium pocket pair.

I think that my turn bet does look a bit flimsy. I'm clingin on to the remaining part of my stack. I've got possibly 15 outs (and I even thought it possible he's playing QT/JT/Tx or something)

My bet on the turn- I hope it's saying to him that I've got something (that I have at least an Ace) but I'm a little weak. He can see my short stack and if he's chasing he's not going away (I half expect a re-raise from him there)
I also think he can fold to the 1200 bet in that situation if he's weak.

I'm finding this difficult to explain here - but what I'm trying to say is I made the turn bet of 1200 with these things in mind:
1. I get re-raised and I'm allin.
2. He folds.
3. He calls and we see the river and I'm maybe around 2:1 to hit something.
4. Because 4 of the 5 players left get paid, I've left myself a safety net. If he calls then checks( which he did in this case) then I'm still in the game with a small stack if I miss a hand completely.

Well that's my thinking. I do see Fink's allin as a stronger play on the whole and also Adaon's check I think is fine too.

I'm still unsure on this one and maybe it's because of the player I was up against - I dunno.

Cheers
