dont have the HH but i will try to put it together
started with 995
he had 1200
rw11687 in SB with js7d
freeroll26 in BB
everyone folds to me
i complete the blind to 30
he checks
flop 9TK (suits dont matter)
he bets 120
i call
turn 8
he bets 330
i raise to 660
he goes allin
i call
river j
rw11687 wins with straight 7 to jack
he told me i was a lucky fish. that i only had a gutshot. he must not be that good if he cant even read the board. i had a double belly buster (in case you didnt see it) and i had good implied odds. i read in super system that it is ok to call an overbet with a double belly buster because if you hit it, you are most likely going to get paid off big. this is because it is hard to see it on the flop, so they dont expect it when it hits. let me know if you think i made a bad call on the flop here. thanks

For 120 Id say it was worth a peek.You still have plenty if you miss the turn and decide to fold.

Exactly..you had plenty if you miss. If you were short stacked, well..I'd say you should take it as it's time to start gambling to stay in.

 Yeh, I think the call is fine too. If I'm reading it right your about 3:2 against hitting one of your 10 outs (including the 2 jacks) Your getting odds for the call.
If you miss and do have to fold, you still have some chips and the blinds are low enough to give you some time.
Was this an MTT or a Sng? How does anyone feel about an immediate steal here? Just interested in your views.

it was SNG, i think an immediate steal would be ok here. if you meant that i would try to take it down on the flop. I have a lot of outs and if he reraises, i am put into a decision. but either way, a fold or call would be ok if he moved in

I fold preflop, even if it is going to be heads up and only a couple of chips. What do you expect to beat here? If you hit a 7 your kicker is relatively strong but not a lock hand, if you hit your Jack your kicker is none existant. You're basically hoping to hit a miracle 2 pair or straight.
Although only 10 chips to complete save them for when you need them. You could easily have been pt in a tricky position had you not hit a very favourable pot. I try to remember that everytime I enter a pot i could lose all my chips, therefore i only enter pots where I think I am in good shape.

i disagree, since itsa only the blinds, if i do hit, im most likely ahead, he showed no sign of anything strong, there was a good chance that i was ahead going into the flop. When its just the blinds playing, i will play a lot of hands, cause chances are if you hit, your probably ahead, your only playing against 2 cards. and those 2 cards are only still in because they have to be, they were in the BB, and jack high is a decent hand in the blinds, so i would have to say folding here preflop is a weak play. if there were other callers, then i see your point, but when its just the blinds, i am in a good spot here.

thats true, but if i miss the flop, i still may put out a bet because a lot of times theyll fold. if they call, then i have info. a lot of the times when its blind vs. blind, first to bet wins the pot.
