Fold that unless it's dirt cheap to see the flop from late position. It's a bad starting hand. In hold'em, it would be about like playing 98 offsuit.

Think of it this way, you have 6 starting hands here.
[Tc Ah 2c Qs] is:
A2o
AQo
ATo
QTo
Q2o
T2s

So you have 1 good low starting hand, 1 okay high hand, and 1 moderate/poor high hand. Out of your six starting hands, you have 1 good one, in this case you would want about 3-1 on your money, and be in position.

Better hands for Omaha have at least 3 low cards, A 2 3 6 for example would be a great hand. In this situation, your hand would look a lot better if the ace were suited instead of the ten, then you would have 2 good starting hands instead of just one. If you are playing for just A2, you are only playing for half the pot and need about 4-1 on your money to justify the play.

The theory in hi/lo is that it is better to start with a predominately low hand. You can walk a lo hand into a decent hi, but a hi only hand can only go hi. Look for hands with more "escape hatches". Play A2 hands, only when the Ace is suited, and you have another lo (3, 4, or 5) as your escape in case your A or 2 get counterfeited on the board.
The other problem is that most omaha players live by the rule to play A2 hands also, so even when you hit your nut low for half the pot, someone else likely has the same hand. If you lose a caller or two along the way, your plan of taking down half the pot quickly turns into getting quartered, or even worse, just an eighth of the pot when two other people turn over the nut low also.

i disagree. your hand had good scooping potential. hands such as A 2 3 6 offer you only the lo end of the pot unless you should happen to make a rare wheel and often, when you do win, youll only get 1/4 of the pot. most people believe playing for half the pot is ok but theyre wrong. you make money in O8 by scooping pots and quartering people who only have the lo end locked up. to scoop pots, you need the best hand on boards that offer hi only or you have the nut hi or lo along with a very good hi or lo also. A 2 Q T offers you a chance at nut lo as well as the chance to make a very good hi hand. You had the nut hi with a draw to the nut lo on the turn against 2 pair and a draw to the second nut lo. anyone who says they wouldnt like to be in your spot doesnt know what theyre talking about. you got your money in in the best possible situation and thats all you can do. you did nothing wrong, you simply got sucked out on. as in holdem, the player who played the hand the best doesnt always win, but you will win in the long run. keep up the good work, youll go far. you got 4 outed for hi. this is why you should love omaha8 instead of hate it.
