Question Surely there are times.....

....just to check it down.....I asked him why he didn't just check the pot down, no reply.....on the flop I have an outside str8 flush draw.....with a str8 possible....by the river I was sure I would be out kicked.....but surely this is one of them circumstances where you just want to bust out the all-in man.....who may I just add was CL up until 3 hands ago when he came against my JQ against his KQ flop come xxJ he puts in a hefty bet, I go all in....he turns over his cards and I'm just begging OUT LOUD.....NO KING!!!!!!!lmao

I just went through a situation where there were 6 of us left in a 27 man SnG and top five get paid. The very small stack was all in in the BB with two other callers including the chip leader. They both check the flop and on the turn the CL puts out a large bet chasing out the other player. Hes now HU with the small stack but all he had were 2 overcards and the smallstack ends up winning the pot and is back in the game. The other player that was forced out of the pot said he would have won that hand. So instead of being in the money we now needed to wait another half hr for the bubble KO. I also asked the CL why he didn't just check the hand down. But no reply.

I once got a reply... "I want the pot" so greed gets in the way of common sense. Small stacks and sitouts get second life (:

Couple things... 1st off Im guessing the shortstack was sitting out because he folded preflop when all his chips were in on the BB. Even if he had still been in the pot I dont consider that a situation to check it down. 100/200 in the 180-man tournys is too early to check pots down hoping to eliminate very small stacks, especially when there would have been a 700 chip live side pot as opposed to a 300 chip pot that the small stack would have been eligable to win.
