Default MiamiNole ;)

awww c'mon Mars

I was just having a little fun.

I thought it was good the way the forum stuck together in defence of Miami's comments but what I said - I didnt feel was getting out of hand. I was just adding to a debate. I meant what I said partly but it was just a little wind-up ( Ok maybe the name calling wasnt warranted but I'd read worse in the previous comments) I hope MiamiNole is given chance to reply, we're all adults ( or should be) and I do hope there isnt too much censorship around.

If you felt it was in the best interests of the forum and it's members then I respect your decision K0Mars Sorry if I went a little overboard, I was hoping MiamiNole could reply and see some humour in the situation. I got it wrong maybe.

I would have to agree......I am surprised that thread was closed....it would appear to of been all be it slightly heated a very, very good discussion on many levels.....with some very valid points made.

Leaders have commented within this thread, without the threat of it being closed.......Mars I have the utmost respect for whatever you feel is the best to do for this forum......however I feel that, that thread was coming around I'm aware that Nole is a bit blunt....but I felt it was all good open, honest discussion regarding poker and peoples personalities.

And the fact that none of it had anything to do with me is brilliant!

lol Sonny... oh you'll get involved in the fight somewhere along the way whether you like it or not!

I must admit...it didnt have anything to do with me really, my dog wouldnt stop barking tonight. I don't hit dogs so I just felt like starting an arguement

I think I wanted Miami to swear at me a bit and I was gonna try a check-raise. I dunno whether I won the blinds or not cos he's disconnected at the moment.

Anyway, no probs. Maybe KoMars did the right thing.

I do think an open discussion is what we are looking for though.

It seemed to me all valid points could be made about the hand history, and only negative comments going back and forth between Miami and the rest of the members would occur.

Yes, Kaart and Jones formally welcomed Miami to the forums, but then Fink went and negated what they said, bringing the negative side of the thread back up.

I like it when there's some heated discussion on the forums and fights and whatnot - everyone knows I like to get all cheap shots in at Sonny - but it certainly wasn't a way to welcome in a new member, whether they stay here or not. Just think about it - why would you want to join a forum when the first thing you see is that they are bad-mouthing you right from the start?

OK 7 - If a leader or helper closes a thread it needs to remain closed. PM him or another leader in general but keep the thread closed and dont start another thread about it mate. No harm has been done by this but we close threads for a reason.

As for this thread it needed to be closed - I would have closed it myself if I had noticed it. There is nothing wrong with defending your play that has been critisised but thats not what happened here. Members should not swear at other members and whilst they do not need to agree with the advice given and can really dispute it with all their passion swearing at members and insulting them (not their poker - them) is not what this forum is about. Its always fun to read other peoples arguements of this nature but it does not a healthy forum make.

This thread was not going anywhere positive and closing it was correct. I have no problem with any of the replies made by leaders in the thread and I think ALL their answers were appropriate. I think they were all appropriate but the point to which the thread had got after 3 or 4 pages it needed to be closed. All that was going to happen was members were going to wind the dude up further and possibly he would respond back, possibly not but either way this was not going anywhere positive.
