Seeing its hand #2 and virtualy impossible to have any type of read on your opponents unless you had played them previously then TP w/ a K kicker is an easy laydown to a bet and a reraise on the flop.. Not too tight at all. Its the right move at that stage of the game.

THF Player of the Year
Calling 100 chips with KJo is very loose. What exactly did you want to flop to call the bet on a the flop?

good point by kaart, if your gonna play it preflop, you basically flopped what you were looking for. you can hope to flop str8s and 2 pair, so top pair 2nd kicer is good. but with that said, you made the right play on the flop, you were beat here. but kaart still makes a great point

KKJ
I wouldve played the hand, but with a raise and a reraise I decided against it,it wasnt the flop that got me out ,it was the betting.

Flopping top pair doesnt mean you have the best hand,I got part of what I wanted but it seemed someone else got something better and I wasnt ready to go all in on that hand and see.(this time anyway)

But I wouldve pushed Kaart all in

calling for less than 10% isnt too bad imo with a wide range of hands get something like q10a and your set for life.

Still I would just chuck it at this stage because with zero reads on your opponents and the probability that they are looser that you you are going to find yourself with lots of tough decisions if you call.

As for on the flop it comes down to population betting - you have very little information on the players per se so have to rely on what players generally do at that level.

You can escape cheaply or gamble. If you gamble then you could still lose even if you are actually ahead (to qa etc.) I think fold is the correct play here. If you looked up sharkscope and found they were both fish then a reraise all in would be a viable play but your fold was fine.

I sometimes see these in sngs as win win situations.

If they have the goods then you avoided a big loss cheap

If they didnt have the goods they are clearly poor players and will give you plenty of chances in the future.
