Well..After the flop I would have been a little suspicous of someone having an A with a rubbish kicker and getting lucky with their 3 hitting. After he raised your bet on the turn you would have to believe he has an ace or the straight, I dont aggree with your call because all he would have to have is a simple 72 to beat your AQ , but it turns out he had the nut straight lol . nothing you could do about that situation besides fold and wait for another oppertunity.. Sick beat tho..that Q on the river just rubbed it in more huh

A tough hand for sure, sorry about the loss. I will share one golden rule I live by after being involved in a number of hands silimlar to this one.

TOP PAIR IS NEVER WORTH YOUR WHOLE STACK!

Of course in poker no rule holds for every situation but there are very, very few situations in a cash game where i would ever break this rule. And if I never broke it I would come out on top in the end.

Yeah I understand where your coming from, but I don't think anyone here is calling the preflop bet with even A 2 nevermind 72, Nor the check-raise. It's just crazy like he knew it would come. I really felt I had the best hand I dunno it just sucks seeing ur whole bankroll gone in one hand on a play that leaves you wondering? I have yet to play another game to RW. Im thinking about new years goals and then I'll play again lol. Im still in awe.

This is just horrible kid - his all in raise is terrible and your LUCK was terrible.

The only thing you can do about this kind of thing is make sure you never sit at a table with more than a small part of your BR. This would not stop this being a terrible suckout for what would have been a nice sum of money to earn.
