During our League match last night I folded my hand with a straight flush on the board. I don't think I had much choice other than trying to bluff basspro with a significant bet on the river to represent the 10h. I had already been called with a good bet on the flop and didn't want to put more chips in the pot with the hand I had. Now when I checked on the river I was hoping for a split and figured Basspro would not bet as he did. A value bet I would have called, but not an all-in. I wondered if he realized there was the Str8 flush on the board and was just being ballsy or if he raised thinking his A high flush was good. When he showed the Ah I thought wow that was risky on his part cause I might have had the 10h. What would you guys do there.

I would have to say that.. BSQUAD types ALOT!

Now, I have to say it is risky to go allin there like bass did. But your play is right, you shouldent risk that much money just for a split even if your the chipleader, let bass have the 1.5k and go on.

You hold the boardcards so you can't win the pot, so you shouldent risk almost 3k for a split of 1.5k. Thats probably some potodds thing. I've nevered really thought about potodds and i doesent know how i should count

I had mentioned earlier that when ever I was in the BB, Basspro would raise me from his early possition. I was getting tired of his move and thats why I called his bet with a less than stellar hand. BSQUAD was pointing it out to me.

Personally, I would have called, as there is only a single card that can beat me, and I'm more than willing to bet against Bass having the ten of hearts.

Post My Reasoning

Yes, I did realize that my Ah was no longer good.

As for my all-in play; I moved all in because of your check there on the river. I figured that there was no way that you could check a ten high straight flush to me after my check on the turn. I figured if you called we would have a split pot or if you folded I would pick up over 1,500 chips from the pot. It seemed like a good opportunity to me at the time.

Default call

you have to call here, he is playing the board like you are. There is one single card in the deck that beats you here and the odds of him having it is very slim.

I actully like his all in for the fact that he is pretty sure you dont have the ten seeing how you played the hand and this is a tourney so he isnt risking paying off the house by pushing. he is giving himself two solid ways to win the hand either by you folding it or you calling and there being a split.

the way I see it though is you got through this hand very very cheap and bass could of taken this hand away at anytime.
