Default So strange... I'm speechless

First a little background. This was a $11 double-shootout satelite for the $215 weekly on Pokerstars. I play these a bit late at night when there aren't any other tourneys running. I'm 2/2 if I win my first game in these things.

Anyway, we're three handed, with third taking $35 and 1st and 2nd taking a $T215 ticket, so some obvious strategy changes here. Everyone has Ms over 20 with plenty of room to play, I'm 2nd in chips, Papa squid was previously the chip leader and is very aggressive. Alusion had been playing weak-tight and was getting pushed around by Papa squid, but nothing prepared me for what happened. I'm always happy to let my opponents go at it in situations like this, but... well, just read it for yourself (And I would've had the straight, no less, hah!):

PokerStars Game #6495649501: Tournament #32903007, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Match Round II, Level IV (50/100) - 2006/10/02 - 02:05:26 (ET)

doesnt make any sense to me - still maybe some lady gave him an offer he could not refuse that had little to do with poker.

I would seriously consider sending this to PS to see if there was any collusion going on - great that you won, but what if this had happened when it was 4 or 5 handed?

What would be the point in colluding like that? 2 places and 3 left one was guaranteed a place anyway if they were colluding it should of been to knock you out.

Just be gratefull for the idiots and good luck if you play it.

I don't think it was colluding either. He was just chasing a str8 or flush and missed. He had 7 9 suited and knew he was beat, saved his chip and a chair but missed that too. I 'm sure most of us would have called the bet with only having 7 chips left, but who knows. Its no-limit and some strange things have been known to happen.

I agree - no collusion there. It was definitely weird, but it moved steven up a finishing spot (at a minimum). At that point in the tourney, the 2,000ish chips that got transfered didn't make a material difference to how the game would be played.

*cough* I'm negating everything Sonny just said *L*

I seem to think they were just dumping chips, or chasing that draw right on down.

I don't see collusion, though
but I might be wrong!

{i been known to BE wrong (on occasion) heh}

rw...you start with 81 players ( 9 tables of 9 ) each table plays down to one player remaining ( 9 players left for final table) then all 9 left have exact same amount of chips
