yeah i almost forgot about that one. I was totally confused after that one. She was under the gun for a start and called with 56 offsuit....she then called a 4 blind raise and caught a 4 on the flop. I put her all in...which was like twice the size of the pot....and she called and caught a 7 and then 8 for the straight. Unbelievable.....how can you ever put them on a hand like that and how an you ever think theyre gonna actually call with a flop that didnt even help them

When I first started playing online poker, I played in freerolls, and did pretty well making final tables with 5k to 8k entrants, but winning squat. So I started playing in real money games, and found out quickly that you can't be successful playing like a freeroller in real money games, and adjusted my style to make some money. I'm finding more and more, that in these low level buy ins, that at least half the players are freerollers trying out some real money buy-ins. They make the "bad play at the right time" and end lots of superior players games or take chunks out of their bankrolls.
In the SnGs I play, I have now started to limp in with monster hands, because if I would put out a big raise I would still get called by 3 or 4 other players with mediocre hands who will stay in the hand with any runner-runner possibility regardless of how much I raise on the flop and turn, and suckout. I bet pretty consevatively until the river when I know where I stand in the hand. If that river card hits with that straight or flush card, at least I can fold and not lose a hugh ammount of my chips. It sucks to have to play like that but, its the only way to survive with a chance at making the cash.

just dealing with the hand in question it is not simply a case of betting on a gun shot it is a

i) gun shot
ii) two over cards
ii) a runner runner flush draw

Ultimately his play is a little strange - he might jus not be playing well (and not worth really studying his play) or he might be putting you on ak etc and think you will fold on the turn

i think its dangerous for him to think ill fold such a small bet in relation to the pot after being the initial raiser and betting on the flop. i dont think we look at this as only a few dollars. Yes it was a $0.20 game but the play was still bad. He lost all the money he had at the table with this play....admittedly not a lot of cash but relatively speaking it was just under the min you can bring to the table so to lose the min at any table with a play like this is bad

play like this will lose you a lot of cash
