I wasn't afraid of the straight, something just told me he didn't have AK or K9...if I was off with that read I was okay with losing $10..to see him chase for that much on the turn though...UGH!

Unlucky man.. i dont play cash coz i am crap . But my thoughts are that somes guys will chase for the nut flush since they know that they may well get paid big if they hit theres and you have some sort of hand to pay them off.. after all you werent messing on the turn.. if it was the Th's you would be loving it .. unless he had TT :P.

Yeh, o well..fortunately I took the $6 I had remaining,turned it into $43 or so...WITHOUT ANY REBUYS!!

So I ended up finishing the session in the black, even if it did take a longass time to get there. Now for the RP tourney, see if I can make some serious winnings there.

Hi K06mars,

Bad luck with those hands. Happy to see that you finished up the night ahead

I think the second hand was a poor call by tib680(though he might think his ace is good, giving him 12 outs and about 3 to 1 to hit) I think he took an he uneccesary risk and got lucky.

I'm never certain about my mathematics nor the correctness of my plays but since I would have played the hands very differently to you, I'll try to give my thoughts here.

Due to time I'll write about the first hand...but in the 2nd hand I would definately of bet my set of 2's on the flop. I think that's a great hand to make money with. I see no reason not to bet it.

In the first hand there was 1.75 in the pot and you bet 2.50 into that with AQo. Fair enough bet I'd say.
It's not often I make big bets preflop with AQ and I would probably have limped. I'd call a preflop raise from someone later in the hand if it wasnt too large. I feel it hides my hand quite well. I'd be hoping to catch the flop for a straight draw or at least hope to be ahead with a kicker if an A or a Q falls.

Anyway, daRoming calls to see the flop, and it gives him 4 to a flush and he's about 2 to 1 to hit one. He also has the chance of hitting a 10 on the turn which will give him an open-ended straight draw and another 8 cards he can hit on the river (6 outs) The 10 of course wins you the hand in this case.

I'm looking back at the hand as I write, so I hope I'm getting it down correctly.

I wonder what he is putting you on. If I was him I'd guess youre playing; pockets, high cards(or possibly, you made a move preflop and youve hit two pair)

He bets, probably hoping to take the hand there. You raise to 20.50. I don't get this raise. I think it's too much. You've just given him great odds to call.

He now has to call $7.75 into a pot of $31.50 ( that's if I've added up correctly) The pots offering him 4 to 1 and he's 2 to 1 to make a flush. He hasnt got the nut (yet) but at those odds, it's a correct call I'd say.

Like I said,I'm never too precise with the maths but those are my thoughts and I'd welcome any comments on them.

yo mars, bad luck my friend. the first call was poor but i can see why he did it if he was a beginner. the second was even worse, but thats what you get at poker4ever ometimes. (i know that it was there because i have played with daromingnome a lot there.) god to see you recovered well. while your playing therer, look for a guy named luftpump or something like that. i was at a 10/20 cent table and i personally took 40 from him. he just plays very loose and will eventually give you all his money if your patient. and then he'll rebuy to give you more

Haha, I'm yet to run into luftpump, although there's a fair list of players I'm more than happy to sit down at a table with.

7letters, with regard to my raise to $20.50, that's all I had, I couldn't raise more, and after looking over the hand now, I can see he was getting the right pot odds to call...just a little pissed at the time thats all.

Mars, I did infact make a mistake when looking at the HH - I hadnt realised at first that daRoming was allin and could only make a call of 7.75 because thats all he had left. It's a pity he didnt have more at the table, he might of folded.

As it is, you get $6 returned and he put 7.75 in to win 34 (pot odds of around 3.4 to 1?) At that point in the hand though, it's still a good call for him.
