Hi K06mars,
Bad luck with those hands. Happy to see that you finished up the night ahead
I think the second hand was a poor call by tib680(though he might think his ace is good, giving him 12 outs and about 3 to 1 to hit) I think he took an he uneccesary risk and got lucky.
I'm never certain about my mathematics nor the correctness of my plays but since I would have played the hands very differently to you, I'll try to give my thoughts here.
Due to time I'll write about the first hand...but in the 2nd hand I would definately of bet my set of 2's on the flop. I think that's a great hand to make money with. I see no reason not to bet it.
In the first hand there was 1.75 in the pot and you bet 2.50 into that with AQo. Fair enough bet I'd say.
It's not often I make big bets preflop with AQ and I would probably have limped. I'd call a preflop raise from someone later in the hand if it wasnt too large. I feel it hides my hand quite well. I'd be hoping to catch the flop for a straight draw or at least hope to be ahead with a kicker if an A or a Q falls.
Anyway, daRoming calls to see the flop, and it gives him 4 to a flush and he's about 2 to 1 to hit one. He also has the chance of hitting a 10 on the turn which will give him an open-ended straight draw and another 8 cards he can hit on the river (6 outs) The 10 of course wins you the hand in this case.
I'm looking back at the hand as I write, so I hope I'm getting it down correctly.
I wonder what he is putting you on. If I was him I'd guess youre playing; pockets, high cards(or possibly, you made a move preflop and youve hit two pair)
He bets, probably hoping to take the hand there. You raise to 20.50. I don't get this raise. I think it's too much. You've just given him great odds to call.
He now has to call $7.75 into a pot of $31.50 ( that's if I've added up correctly) The pots offering him 4 to 1 and he's 2 to 1 to make a flush. He hasnt got the nut (yet) but at those odds, it's a correct call I'd say.
Like I said,I'm never too precise with the maths but those are my thoughts and I'd welcome any comments on them.
