THF Player of the Year
I don't see anything wrong, he had a flush draw and had you covered. If he lost he still would have had a bigstack and if he hits his Ace or Flush then he has a big chance of winning the tournament.

If I don't hit my AK I will not bet it and fold it to any bet unless I have Flush chance. I would have folded to your big bets but some players like to take risks and he had a lot of chips so I can see why he called you. And it's not like you got beat by a 2 outer, there were still 9 clubs left.

If only someone would have screamed 'HOLD' 'HOLD' then that club wouldn't have come on the river.

Tough Beat, but i absolutely hate how you played. With blinds at 400/800, and a guy from the button raises and you have AKs you have got to re-raise. Not much of a difference seeing that he probably would have put you all-in had you reraised him, but still. Not raising there lets hands such as, 76s, that may have raised from the button see the flop.

I think the biggest problem here is you were trying to bluff the big stack. They have the chips to mess around, and they will do it. This is why the short stacks look to them to double up.

You played like you had the jack, but he was willing to risk it seeing as he had two overs and a flush draw. He was looking at about 32% chance to win a huge pot in his eyes. He had the chips to take that risk, and he did. It paid off.
