For 10 cents you can make crazy calls like that hoping to catch a big stack and move up. Also the competition cant be all that great loose wild kid proly thought his A high was good.

If I were you I would have just pushed preflop. No sense putting 1/3 of your stack in preflop hoping to catch a pair. If you push you will get more value out of hands you have dominated preflop, while avoiding difficult situations like this.

I would have made the raise to 300 preflop. After the flop there is 1000 in the pot and you have 1000 left... the check raise I dont understand. Once he bet 600 you knew he couldn't fold, if you were planning on putting your chips in anyways you should have pushed instead of checking. Gives you one more chance to win the hand if they fold.

AK of diamands that would be a decent play. Offsuit I don't like it, it's going to get you in trouble more times then you will get paid off.

As the original raiser/agressor you should have pot in a half pot bet for the steal and to see where you stood.

The guy left himself with only 75 chips - to me, thats usually someone who wants a call. Though in this case, the guy was as silly as you and had nothing

If you had the then this would have been a good move as you would have had two overcards plus the flush draw, but just two overcards wasnt enough to warrant a call from someone who raised
