i enjoy everyone's opinions...at this stage of the tournament the last thing i want to do is tangle with one of the few players who has more chips than me. in retrospect, i am definitely comfortable with my play because i figured my fold equity was quite high, as i really just wanted to end the hand without any more cards hitting the board. however, i had a large enough stack where i could have just called his bet, and then hopefully had the discipline to fold on the turn when the 3rd spade hit.
those things being said, i am often times way too willing to risk my tournament life with the chance to raise my stack significantly. the way i look at it is if my hand does hold up, i now have 60K in chips, and am an overwhelming chip leader, and i could have continued to accrue chips on my way to the final table.
not that it matters, because at these limits hardly anyone pays attention to table image, but before this hand and the one before it where i had AA, i hadnt played a hand in about 20 minutes. i rarely play this tight, but it obviously didnt make a difference, because the BB felt it necessary to protect Q3s..... |
