I think the river bet was ok, but once you got reraised you have to put him on something pretty strong and just call him and save yourself 18 bucks.

ya, i agree here with teedough, after the reraise, just call after that, because you need to assume something big. Especially after no raise preflop, because he could have had anything including 92, 97, or 95, which would also give him a full house

Wink I dont usualy replay to these

1) Its always easy to say what you should have done after the event.....

2) I rarely understand them.....lol

Your play post flop was good sounding your opponent out to see if he is holding any 9's and his response would lead you to believe that he isn't (correctly) perhaps put him on a couple of overs.......

You improved your bet 3 fold on the turn when you hit your 5 and he flat calls, this is where I would start to think about the "big blind special" coming up and I would have to start considering a higher over pair (your still miles in front) or and more likely 9 7 o or s and his slow playing me.....Pockets 7s would still be a shocker but at this point well worth considering.....

You bet a fair amount on the river, now knowing he hasn't hit the ace with his A9....is a possibility.........and then here it comes....

He backed raised you for the 1st time during the play.......Hmmmmm....what could he have.....he could be bluffing trying to make his chase pay....he knows that you know he hasn't raised the whole hand, maybe wanted to scare you........Or.....

Has he hit one of the previous mentioned hands or already had it and was just playing for maximum payout....hence just doubling your raise on the last although he had the near nuts......

I feel you could only call his raise of course you couldn't lay your hand down you have a fullhouse that you made on the 4th.....but yet still there are better possibility’s out there than the hand you had, all be there only a few...

Hein sight is a great thing but that re-raise would have rocked me a bit but I would have paid what I've just bet to see his cards however.....just not of re-raised him.

Another Day Another Dollar......!!!!!

Yeah, I agree with the call on the river, but not the all-in over the top re-raise. He has to have something in order to raise you here, and you need to just call and cut your potential losses- but there's no way you cna lay down aboat in that situation, either!

Not pushing on the river would be a huge mistake, this guy will have a slowplayed 9 far more often than he has a boat, and this looks like a great opportunity to stack him. Not pushing the river would be leaving way too much value out there. You played it good virtue.

I can't see that, the play up to the river was great but he had to take him for a hand after he back raised him.

An all in over the top raise is never really a good play when you lose and haven’t been outdrawn.....But it is one you learn from I feel.... and this is only my opinion!!!!
