Default CD Poker Tour

I was just on their site, reading about this tour like thingie, and i found it to be pretty interesting.

Is any of you in the rankings at this point? Since there are some good players here, that probably would be able to make it if they tried. (just curious bout it)

I've been playing since the beginning. At this point you'd have some catching up to do, although they keep changing their rules as they go, so you never know. There's been talk of picking a land based champ by voting on interviews held with weekly winners. Which is really lame in my opinion. It was originally stated that the person who accumulated the most points over all their seasons would be the winner (1 season = 4 months). Points are earned in the daily, weekly and monthly games.

Basically if you've never played, you can play for the first month for free. There are 6 qualifiers a week (each with $200 gp) for the weekly 1k and the 2k monthly freeroll. Top 20 from each qualifier get into that weeks 1k AND the monthly 2k. I finished 4th overall last month and got a $50 bonus on top of my winnings from the tournies. I've finished in the top 10 a couple times now.

After your first month, or for those who have already been playing, you must accrue 200 cd points per week in order to enter the next week's qualifiers. So obviously those who sign up now are getting a slight advantage over those who have been playing for a while. It was originally a $1.00 buy in for all the qualifiers and activity of 100 raked hands a week. So some of us have already invested a bit into this. But they wanted more players so they opened it up some.

Good luck to all who decide to play and hope to see you at some of the final tables!!

The CDPT has gone down the tubes as far as I am concerned. As cynful said it used to be a $1 buyin to play in the daily qualifier but now you need 200 points. I might be wrong but 1 point equals 1 raked hand and their raked hands are based on you actually putting money in the pot. A friend of mine played 4 hours at the $1/$2 and only got 58 points. He got fed up and withdrew all his money from the site. I will probably do the same. I can get into a lot better freerolls at the Prima sites for raking 200 hands and their hands are based on the more liberal participatory method. Pwersonally I think this went from one of the best bonus offers to one of the worst.

Actually there were always supposed to be raked hands required after your first month playing, but they never seemed to enforce it until now. They obviously needed more players who would eventually be sitting at ring tables in order to afford to continue the tour. So yeah, it's not easy guaranteed money for a buck anymore, but I still enjoy the tour.

CDPoints are awarded to players for each hand in which they participate, as long as the hand is raked, including a player's contribution to the pot via a blind or a bet, even if the player folded.

It's based off the blind structure:

.25/.50 1 point per raked hand
.50/$1 2 points per raked hand
$1/$2 4 points per raked hand

I usually play the $1/2 tables because regardless of the blind structure the pot must reach $5.00 to be raked. It's really not that hard to earn the points if you are a break even player. I know that's not possible for everyone, but what can I say, CD Poker has been very very good to me, lol.

I'm not sure where your friend got his info on how many points he earned during that time period. There is no way to check your cd points or raked hands (this is not a good thing obviously and they have promised an upgrade soon to fix that). At first they said you could ask the online support or call them for the info, but now they say they can't do that because support was giving out the wrong information. The only other way to find out is if you have a pending bonus, wherein you will receive an email from them weekly giving you your progress. Also for the CDPT, if you have played enough raked hands throughout the week, you will get an email telling you that you are qualified.

That is exactly how he got it he called support about that and clearing his bonus and that is who told him what constituted a point. That makes it slightly more attractive but it is still not a great deal. Just an averrage offering by an average poker room. If they went back to the way it was I would play it but I think there are better values out there.

No the $1 deal is long gone. Now you have to play in the ring games and rake hands.
