Default These Freerolls

The private freerolls here aren't much different than the public freerolls.. In fact, they actually might be worse.. For one thing, there's no one playing.. I sat and played for almost 1 hour against 2 other people.. no one else showed.. Then 1 of the players decides to go all in every other hand.. I finally call him with K J and am beaten with J 10.. he catches a 10. what a joke. Granted this was only my first game.. we'll see how the next one at 3 goes.

Amen to that, brother. I think in the beginning of tournies most people are super aggressive, trying to gather chips early. Just steer clear of the idiots and aggressors and you'll be fine.

i tend to use phil hellmuths[and most pro poker players] strategy in tournaments.. play tight early while the blinds are low, you can afford to wait for a good hand, then later on start looking to steal blinds.. works best after the idiots are eliminated and you have a feel for the table and the type of opponents youre up against

I agree completely Lucos. But most of the time, some idiots will get lucky with a big stack, and alot of good players will have huge stacks as well, from idiots going all in. You are then stuck with a small stack compared to the rest and arent feared as a contender. This is why, even in the beginning of tournaments, you need to establish your table appearance as tight solid and only play the best hands. As well as build up a stack.

exactly.. the idiots do tend to get lucky early on, but as we both know, luck only lasts a certain amount of time and skill always comes out on top in the end

The only problem with waiting for the good hands is when you get one you know there will be that one moron who goes over the top or even all in with crap.
