I try to very my style from agressive to tight to agressive in a huge tournament like that. Especially if it's a freeroll, I will be very agressive first, hoping to double up one or two times and have a nice little chip lead. Once I get to a comfortable spot, I try to play only top ten hands, which usually get your stack up bigger (unless you are playing Full Tilt, and something ridiculous happens). Once the money line gets closer, I loosen up, trying to steal some blinds (no one wants to be the first one out before the money, so most people play tigher).
But, no matter how tough I play, I always get beat by some crap. Luck is still a major factor, no matter how good you are.
