Default Freeroll Hunters

I see a lot about freeroll hunters on some of the sites and see next to none of it is good. I'll admit I'm a freeroll hunter but with my finances I can't deposit enough at one time to satisfy requirements anywhere to have a good starting bankroll.

That is one reason why I won't be playing any of them from the forums until I'm allowed or able to deposit enough to play some of the buyins as well.

I'd just like to know what some of you think about it.

I think the freerolls on the better sites are so much harder to make money at then buy in games, as the quality of play can be questionable and unpredictable, that by depositing a small amount to start off with and building up from there is the way to go. I started off with $50 I got from a friend, and was lucky enough to never have been down more than that. Technically it's not a great bankroll, but if you play small enough games, it can really go places.

The min deposit on pokerstars is $10, so it probably wont break most people's banks

Say hi to a confirmed freeroll whore. I never deposit anywhere unless it is for immediate withdrawal just to satisisfy cashout requirements. BUT, don't stick to freerolls, invest the winnings in whatever type of game suits you, you will win much faster. BUT, do stick to freerolls if you are not in the mood for spending money, there is no point in losing your hard earned loot just by thinking you have moved on from freerolls and playing for your cash when you don't feel right about it.

"Hard earned loot" sounds like you are a pirate "ey mate". So what sites do you all use to get into freerolls that will eventually pay real cash?

Some sites like Rosso are easy, just play and cash out, they are a new small site, so I don't know whether they will survive, so I cash out when I can ($50 min). Poker Rewards are similar, not many open FRs as that is a constraint of the net they belong to, but they do sometimes do their own open FRs. Others have cash out requirements, Celeb is just a deposit, so you don't play with that. Poker4ever require 12X FR winnings in Player Points, but if you deposit there is no restriction on FR winnings made after the deoposit, so you can always deposit but make sure you only play with FR winnings then cash out your deposit and some winnings when you hit their min cashout. But you can earn points on tourneys and SnGs as well rakes. Pitbull is ok so long as you don't accept any bonuses, even the sign up one, as any bonus traps you into earning 200 Comp Points and they are not easy to come by. I've had no probs with Bugsys. I've deposited there to transfer to other players so that may be why.

Thinking about it I did have to deposit at Rosso and wait 48 hours before cashing out, but that's no prob so long as you don't play with it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being a freeroll hunter. I'll admit to being one myself. It's the attitude of a lot of them which gives them (us) a bad name. Most of them have no shame, steal passwords, spam forums to get passwords, act like f***ing morons, and ruin the game for everyone else.

If people join a forum just to play some freerolls, what's wrong with that? (As long as they don't make a nuisance of themselves.) We all like getting stuff for free. Poker is no different.

I, for one, play poker only for fun. I never have, and never will invest any money in it. That way the worst thing that can happen is that I don't win anything. No pressure, no stress. I have enough of that in life already.

The only reason I had money in college was from playing poker!
